I will start this memorial service with an explanation of how the following treasures died.
it was another fateful day. I decided to go mining. I was mining on a slate of obsidian surrounded by lava. A creeper came and exploded and knocked me off the slate into the lava. I then perished along with my treasures.
The treasures that were lost include:
my bow that I slayed the ender dragon with, infinity I power IV flame I
my sturdy diamond picaxe, fortune II, unbreaking III, efficiency IV
my alluring diamond axe, fortune III, unbreaking III, efficiency IV
my trusty set of unenchanted diamond armor
the 6 diamonds I mined earlier on the trip
my other stuff that isn't very important
I obtained all this stuff in survival mode and it breaks my heart to say goodbye to it. If you would be so kind to say a few words on behalf of my deceased treasures I would truely be grateful.
I'm sorry for your loss, but am confident you can recover from it. When working around the lava levels, consider leaving your most treasured tools at home and instead working with lesser ones (e.g. I'll often carry an iron pickaxe instead of a diamond one, unless I'm actually planning to mine obsidian.) That way, if you are pushed or fall into lava, the losses don't hurt quite so much. If I do find a number of diamonds, I usually head home pretty quickly with them. If my base is a long ways away, i may set up a small safe base nearby with a chest where I can temporarily store diamonds a such.
I always carry at least one fire resistance potion with me when I go mining and have it on my hot bar. If I somehow end up in lava I quickly drink the potion and swim to safety.
...And here I am in my world going through diamond armour and tools like they're nothing.
Get a good village running and you'll start caring less and less about "good" items since they're so dang easy to get after even few hours if done right.

Welcome back Phoenix. Somehow, I don't think you die that frequently... even around lots of lava.:P
I do a hardcore world (I'm very experienced in PvP and other cool stuff) and generally I run around in diamond armour like nothing . WITHOUT a village . And no blazer spawners ... I CAN'T FIND ANY ! ...
So ... Yeah ... I never die ... I'm better than a Phoenix (which always comes back to life)

See, my philosophy is different. I die lots and in as many humorous ways as I can think of - it's what makes the game fun. So, I run around tempting fate without armor and carry only the essentials and iron and stone tools.
I actually got punted into lava last night and came out noping, left alive with two hearts and a crispy skeleton.
Under normal conitions I rarely die. I get myself killed a lot in my third mini map, but that is because it's supposed to be stupid I difficult in hard mode; and I don't care much for PvP since the system tends to...lag annoyingly.

Memorial prevention guide:
- Disable autosave.
- Save manually at regular intervals, like 15 minutes.
- Save before starting any potentially dangerous activity.
- If you die and lose a lot of stuff, exit without saving, and relaunch the game with your last save.
