made an iron golem farm. Complete with villagers and all. Didn't put a roof over my villagers square. Zombies went in and turned them all. It wasn't really efficient anyways.
I assume the game created a raid and spawned them on the walls, but the post is vague, so it's very possible that there was a way in already, whether it was player-made or part of the landscape.
In a zombie siege, zombies will spawn inside buildings, in lighted areas, just about everywhere.
I've also had an interesting situation in a PC game -- not sure if it works the same on console -- where apparently zombies would fall off cliffs onto my anti-zombie protective glass, and those that didn't die from the fall would summon additional zombies, which spawned in the nearest legal location: under the glass, in the trade village. That ended with the changes in zombie behavior (they now BAF rather than summoning) but it may still function that way on consoles.
Also, a zombie trying to get to a villager has insane pathfinding capability. If there's a way in, guaranteed, zombies will find it. Oh, will they ever find it!
Build Planes, Boats, Cars, Airships and fight!
