I was was wondering if the world you send to Xbox One will get bigger? I saw a video of how to do it but the map seemed the same size. And the only thing I saw about was kinda old and no answer.
The blocks on the edge of the map that can't be broken, I had a bunch of ice on mine, I managed to use tnt to blow them up, but I accidentally dropped some lava and made obsidian lol. So I was thinking that could be broken later on when converting to Xbone since the map gets bigger?

per some article I read and practical experience, the answer is "No. The 360 world ported to XbOne will not get bigger."
It's not clear WHY they won't enable the world to be bigger, perhaps to avoid jarring biome changes as these worlds were likely fully explored and were surrounded by water on all sides.
The article I read hinted that they might enable them to be bigger someday. But I wouldn't count on it.
Instead, I view the Import as simply a way for me to keep working on my old world, or at least not losing it, as I spend more time on XbOne than 360 as time goes on.
Thats pretty disappointing if thats the case. Got a world me and my gf been working on since it came to 360. We figured we would be able to expand it and keep adding to it. And apparently i'll be stick with random obsidian at the edge of the water lol.
The world will not get bigger.
However, you will get the One's increased view distance.
The "Resize World" option to blow it up to One size won't come till later. No ETA.... yet.
Back to the original question, the second part.
As for the expansion itself there's 3 ways they could do it:
1- 360 map is in the center and it's expanded out in 4 directions.
2- 360 map is in the middle of an edge and it's expanded out in 3 directions.
3- 360 map is in the corner and it's expanded out in 2 directions.
We haven't head how it's gonna work for sure. I'm sure 4J's working that part out. To me, though, #3 is the easiest way for them to do it, but we'll see.

however they do it is fine by me as long as they don't make worlds too big.
