Now if you read the new interview talking about the Xbox One version of Minecraft (link here: http://www.totalxbox.com/80680/features/minecraft-xbox-one-mojang-talks-differences-updates-and-dlc-plans/) they touched on Minecraft Realms and the possiblity of something similar to that coming to consoles. From what I got from the article it seemed like something they were working on, on the side in between updates and releasing the next gen versions of Minecraft. As of right now, there's no mention on what platform this could come to or even if it could be on all platforms but what I want to touch on is if it will come to last gen versions of Minecraft (X360/PS3). Servers aren't really a thing of needed power such as something like a larger world since servers run on remote computers and such BUT the only problem I run into with this is player count. As we all know last gen versions of the game only have a player count of 8, maybe this is done since multiplayer games are basically reliant on host connection and they believe anything above 8 will become to much of a burden on the average connection or it could be power I'm not an expert on networking whatsoever but what I'm getting to is that since servers are not being ran by the "host" connection isn't the problem so could it be possible on X360/PS3? Would you even want that on the smallish worlds that are on X360/PS3? Also, would want the Minecraft Realms way of doing it with paying for a subscription or just bam make a server and your done (which I really doubt 4J or Mojang would do).

Pretty sure the limit was set at 8 because the Party Chat limit is 8 people on the 360. Not really sure about the PS3.

It would be impossible for 4J or Mojang to allow people to just create servers for free. Servers cost money to run and maintain. Someone would have to pay for it and it definitely wouldn't be Microsoft, Mojang, or 4J paying for player servers. It would be the players.

They've been talking about Realms or something similar for the console versions for a long time now. At least a year.
