We need a lord of the rings mashup pack! I'd love to run around middle earth, fighting orcs and golblins with my sword, sting
There are plenty of possibilities for skins and textures. The music is amazing, and there are plenty of places to recreate.
If you like this idea, vote in the polls. For a reply, list some of the places that toy would like to see recreated, and tell me which items or mobs would have which texture (For example, the zombies would be orcs, and zombie pigmen could be Uruk Hai)
The ender dragon could be one of the ring-wraith's dragons, or smaug. What about some of the mobs? And I'll also start making a list of skins for the different characters later today.

Just updated my original post, named 40 characters for the skins, and a few of the skins for mobs. I didn't know what things some of the mobs should be retextured to be, so if anyone has any ideas, let me know
Lol Endermen could maybe be those trees that attack people? Or was a suggestion already made for that?
Ent's? In my opinion, it doesn't fit as well as what was already proposed: 16. Enderman (Nazgul)

...actually, an Iron Golem might make a good Tree - Ent in a Mash-up Pack, after all they WERE the "ancient shepherds of the forest and allies of the free peoples of Middle-earth during the War of the Ring", which would make them friendly to villagers and players alike...unless attacked.
Edit: What about a Fellbeast as used for the Ghast? I know it doesn't look like a ghast very much, but it does fly around...

Good idea, the iron Golem shall be an ent. I listed the enderdragon as blackwings (AKA, Fellbeast) since the enderman were Nazgul. It seemed fitting.

Fitting, yes...your logic makes sense... but the enderdragon IS the only 'dragon' in the game, and usually, when I think of Dragon in LOTR, I'm thinking of Smaug, not the fellbeasts.

I know. But, it would be odd to have smaug on a dark floating island, full of nazgul. Even if the endtone was retextured to look like gold, why would you find smaug in this real realm? Nd the endergragon seems more like a fellbeast than smaug.

Well... I suppose you could flip it and re-texture the the Ghasts as maybe baby dragons???....

Enderdragon could easily be Smog from The Hobbit. I know it's not "LOTR", But, it's in the same series so i think it counts. I suggested characters from both the lord of the rings, and the Hobbit, so Smaug is an option, but as said above, "it would be odd to have Smaug on a dark floating island, full of Nazgul. Endermen could be like.. I don't know.. Sauron before he got stuck in the tower Endermen would be Nazgul. They fit the job, tall, black and mysterious. Reside in a void-like dimension and can travel between the two. And the dragon would be a Fellbeast (The dragons the Nazgul ride).
And if Zombies are to be Orcs... Then shouldn't the Villagers be Elves to fit the piece or am I incorrect on that part? That could work, but the villagers don't really fight back. I suggested that they be, just villagers, or townsfolk, because orcs will attack towns people too. I'd like to have some of the mobs be elves, and dwarves, but minecraft doesn't really have anymore good mobs that could be re-textured.

Kinda forgot about iron golems for some reason.
Iron Golems: Ents (it does fit them)
Villagers: Bree Folk
Spiders + Cave Spiders: Mini Shelobs (Spiderlings)
Creepers: Berserkers (like the one who blew up a wall at Helm's Deep)
Skeletons: Barrow-Wights
Zombies: Orcs (w/ armour and weapons with update 1.4 - would look more the part)
Pigmen: Oathbreakers (ghost army from the 3rd film) or perhaps Goblins
Endermen: Ringwraiths (again, befitting... though a bit tall)
Slimes, Magma cubes, Ghasts, Witches, and Wither skeletons I've no ideas for.
