Alright so I've made an unlimited villager breeder on my survival world. I would love to get some sweet book enchantments from the Librarians. The thing is the Librarians require an absurd amount of emeralds/trades to unlock new ones. I'm finding myself having to buy compass after compass, while still not getting a new trade. All the other villagers unlock their new trades after one or two old trades. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yup. And it's all random. Just keep plugging away. I've got a blacksmith that won't stop selling me iron boots. I've almost filled up a double chest with them but I know he's got more trades after that..... he's just messing with me.

I usually solve this^ problem by killing the blacksmith if he tries to offer me the same thing after 4 tries.

As for the question, you'll probably want to get enchanted books from strongholds, dungeons or temples. You can also just enchant your own. Villagers like to rip you off.

Try making a different trade from that villager. It works for me

Just get as many villagers as possible, and get rid of all the useless ones.

I would kill him, however I'm keeping him because his first trade was the diamond trade! I got that crappy trade out of the way real quick.
