Wait, what? Is this survival? Creative? built on creative then turned to survival? vanilla survival maps are good if you back them up often. Creative build maps are good but you need to think about where people can build. Are you sticking to a theme? How are you gunna stop people greifing? Maybe a factions map, but you might get people only going on when nobody else is. Minigames worlds are fun, but need periodic resets. You decided that you want a type of server, and then you decide to make it 24 hour. Each server is different so you can't ask what they generally have. you could load a superflat world on survival, not give anyone privalages and leave it on 24 hours a day. tada! You have a server.

Build a spawn area on creative for starters, especially if it's a pvp server so that nobody can spawn kill.
By the way, how are you going to even run a 24/7 server on an xbox? Sounds like your going to have a broken xbox real soon if you plan on leaving your console on like that...
Perhaps you let players build and play as they please, but require them to help with the bigger builds when you need them to. That way you have a low-maintenance server, with assistance for the cool stuff you want to build.
For griefers, as long as you preach a good message for your server, the griefers will fade as they begin to see the point of the community. Griefing is fun until that hole in your soul is filled and you actually want some genuine interaction instead of anti-social behavior. Anyway, a 24/7 server will fry your xbox unless you put a big ol' fan blowing on it. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Just looking for common things good servers have.
It doesn't matter how long you leave your box on for. The same cool things apply.

You know who found that interesting?
2- consistency Don't call it a survival hard server if you go into peaceful to build a mob grinder around blaze spawners

couldn't agree more with the consistency point
