If anyone has the proper knowledge, could you say whether or not zombie pigmen, magma cubes, and ghasts will spawn on the roof of the nether so long as there is a full block for them to spawn on? (other than bedrock of course) Thanks,

Ghast spawn in the air and need at least a 3x3 opening (may be 4x4) so they can spawn in any open nether space.

Zombie pigmen and magma cubes spawn like mobs in the above world so they will spawn on available ground.

So if they have room they could spawn near the top of the nether but if there is only a few blocks it is statistically not as likely.



What are you trying to do?

I want them to spawn on TOP of the nether. Above the bedrock ceiling. I know that they do spawn above the bedrock ceiling in the PC Edition, and you can make mob farms without blowing up or covering large areas with half slabs, because if you stack high enough above the ceiling, the area below is not loaded and they can only spawn on blocks that you place (i.e. inside a mob system)

No, none of the nether mobs will spawn above the bedrock layer. Its a completely safe area.

Aw that's terrible I want to make a mob system in the nether so bad but it's so much work. Thanks for the replies

There is a chance that zombie pigmen will go through a nether portal so you can place 100 nether portals in the overworld in a mob grinder and farm gold and xp from them there. There are several types if you search utube. I have added 6 to 12 nether portals to skeleton and zombie spawners to get some gold mixed in with those xp farms.

Yea same here. Good thing i did research before i started i decided to wait until the next gen versions and see if 4J do anything.
