Bought the game disc a couple days ago and am wondering if I have to do something to get horses in the game besides going to the plains. Any suggestions would be wonderful. Thanks!!

You'll have to wait until they are added. The 360 version hasn't caught up to the PC version yet.

There are no horses. They will be added to the Xbox much later, probably not for another year. When 4j studios (The game developers for consoles) creates the updates for Xbox, they take all the features from a certain pc update. Our last feature update was tu14, which added features from the pc's 1.3 update. Tu15 and tu16 were bug fix updates. Tu17 will have a new set of features, and will MOST LIKELY take features from the pc's 1.4 (A.K.A the pretty scary update)

That way, you can get a good idea of what features will come in what update. And if you want news about updates, or anything related to minecraft for consoles, you can check 4j studios Twitter page. Try to avoid YouTube videos about the updates, they usually do a lot of guessing, and they aren't too reliable.

Thank you for all the help, I thought the horse update was already added. I guess I will have to find a pig and ride it until that update comes.

I have a strong feeling that the next feature update will be released with the launch of the next gen versions, or shortly after their release. It may not have horses in it, but it'll be a feature update none the less.

No, they aren't. Horses are not in the 360 Edition yet. Good thing this question was already answered a month ago.
