Doesn't it seem like Minecraft would hire the people who make the Shaders Mod to work on the Xbox One and PS4 Versions of Minecraft?
I mean since you should probably know that the Xbox supports 4k resolution, why shouldn't Minecraft? + I know A LOT of people who play Minecraft on the Xbone more than the PC. Personally, I think it would be a really good idea. Anyone disagree?
Maybe they should incorporate it into all versions that support it. like in PC, they should make it an option in video settings.
If you're going to stress that people read, maybe you could follow that yourself? If you read what I mentioned, you'd see that there is no need to support it on the PC because it is already supported there (the consoles are indeed another matter). Like I said, you simply need a display capable of that resolution and Minecraft should happily run at it when set to fullscreen (so long as your desktop is set at said resolution, which it should/probably would be). With the feature to have the UI scale larger, the game seems like it would already support it nicely.
As for the consoles, I have no idea what resolution they truly render at "internally" (they will be scaled to match the display though).
Xbone isnt powerful enough. I doubt any game this console generation will be 4k. I know the ps4 only supports 4k video playback, and am pretty sure it is the same for X1. If there is 4k, it will take A LOT of optimization, and be a long time from now.
I was reading on (several) games sites that MC will run at 1080p and 60fps on either of the new consoles.
So the OP thinks that the MC graphics will be improved with shaders? Have we forgot that we're looking at 1980ish graphics here? Anything would be an improvement. (I wish MC looked like Blockscape).

Exactly. What good is 4k if all we're getting are 16x and 32x textures? Besides, 4k is only really noticeable on larger sized screens... just like 1080p is only noticeably different from 720p on 40+" LCDs. With 4k, you'd need screens 55+" to notice a difference from 1080p.
Well, now, I did here there was support for 4k from the Xbone forums. Plus, who am I to say they can't? They can run watch_dogs, and that is an EXTREMELY graphically intense game for the xbone and ps4

Watch_Dogs doesn't run at 4K though. Doesn't it not even run at 1080p if I remember right?
Anyway, Minecraft could maybe run at 4K on the newer consoles (I'm not saying it surely could but I wouldn't discount it either), but given the low texture resolution and low target base for 4K displays, I don't think it'd be a big priority.
There's a big difference between seeing the same thing in a higher resolution and adding increased graphical elements. (Pong at 4K still looks like Pong.)
I believe the OP wants to add new graphical elements (ie, 'shaders'). That will never happen unless the vanilla PC MC adds it.
And even then, the old-gen consoles may not be able to handle the new graphics.
I mentioned Blockscape (search some youtubes). Of course MC should've, by now, look as good as that. But what I didn't mention was that even a pretty good PC will be brought to it's knees. You need a great PC to run it without any lag- and very few of us have that kind of PC (for many of us, that's why we play on a console- our PC can't handle even the standard MC).

Minecraft doesn't look like Blockscape because Mojang doesn't want it to. Minecraft likes like it does because that is the way Notch made it and the way Mojang wants it to look. Retro throwback style.
One of the reasons Blockscape can look the way it does is because it isn't make up of blocks. You can make angles and many other things like curves and such. Allowing things other than blocks allows the game to look less like crap when adding in more realistic textures. Minecraft vanilla looks perfectly fine to me. Add in super high resolution textures to Minecraft, like some texture packs do, and it looks like crap because it's made of blocks.
Mojang wanted Minecraft ot be accesible to as many people as possible. You already need a decent PC to run the current PC Minecraft. Imagine how few people would have bought it if it had taken an even more powerful computer to run what Blockscape looks like. Or imagine that they waited until now to change it to what Blockscape looks like and a large portion of the consumer base who bought the game a while ago can suddenly no longer run it unless they buy a better computer.
Mojang took all these things into consideration when creating the visual style of Minecraft.
Blockscape is a block, voxel, game- it just can use various size blocks (instead of just one) and it uses 'smoothed' blocks.
Instead of working on the graphics (modders seem to have no problem), Mojang has decided to concentrate on adding more gimmicky 'features', like witches and horses. Oh well. Their decision.
The point I was trying to make was there's no point in increasing the resolution unless you improve the graphics. And face it, MC looks bad. Maybe on purpose, but it still looks bad.

Minecraft will be eventually supported on 3D TVs, Right???????

If you're asking specifically about the Xbox, this might be better suited to the appropriate forum.
Edit: Okay, and apparently this was already moved since I had this tab open to reply to it.

The Xbox One and PS4 are nowhere near as powerful as a PC that is needed to run something at 4K and/or use the Shader Mod for Minecraft.
