I was just wondering, why would you buy this? It costs as much as the PC, and you don't get as much. I mean, it isn't as updated, you have to pay for multiplayer, which is free on PC, you have to pay for skins, which is free on PC, you have to pay for texture packs, which is free on PC, and it has less selection of texture packs and skin, and you can't get mods.
You can even go to a video game store and buy a card for PC instead of on the computer, just like buying a disk.
So, why?

there are many reasons

Minecraft on pc requires a decent computer to run, not everyone has a pc good enough
some people dont have pcs
Some people prefer to use a game controller than a keyboard
some people prefer everything on their consoles
again, not everyone has a 1000 dollar gaming rig of a pc
some people have laptops, and laptops + minecraft = no-no
Some people have oplder computers that have outdated video cards
Sometimes its more fun to sit on a sofa and play on a 60 inch flat screen with a controller instead of in a metal chair on a small monitor
And its actully 20 dollars, pc is 32 including tax , so its 12 dollars cheaper
Mojangs Recent EULA - nuff' said right there in regards to mc pc multiplayer
we will get things like withers, horses, hoppers etc eventually

need any more reasons as to why people buy console edition?
Also, sucks to be xbox ... ps3 gets free online!! #ps3isbetterthanxbox ..the ps4 is a different story...

Some people like to play splitscreen with on their big screen TV with their family and friends all looking at the same screen all all sitting comfortably in their living rooms enjoying the same snacks, laughing simultaneously at the same events in the game instead of only seeing what's on their own individual screen and having to communicate via a mic (if they even have a mic).

Also the reason this doesnt have as much is
1. its coded in C++ while pc is coded in Java
2. the 360s have limitations such as low RAM
3. MS puts restrictions on how big save files can be for an Xbox live arcade game

Well, if two people have a lap top or computer, then you can easily play on lan.

You said 1000 dollars, then you said 500. Also, yes, you can pay for them, and it is optional, but on PC, it is completely free.

way less stuff is debateable based on what you use said pc for. if you use a pc for buisness, then yes, it has more stuff..

for gaming? consoles have more. as well as stuff like exclusives, and the fact you dont need to spen as much money to play a high quality game..only good thing about pc gaming is steam and its prices.,
but you need a pretty good pc to run GTA 5 , Minecraft, Skyrim, the Sims.Army of two, arma 3 , g-mod etc ..mostlikely it will ocst 500 or more dollars...a console can play almost all those those games, at a good framerate, with HD graphics for 400 dollars or less. The console version also has way less bugs than the pc does ..ever look at a pc changelog and all the bug fixes? compare that to a console edition changelog .. also

, you said to another user you can play over LAN ...well what if they dont have 2 laptops or pcs? not everyojne is made of cash like that ...Its cheaper to buy a 2nd controller and do splitscreen than to buy a new laptop just so a friend can play too.... honestly this whole debate is like coke or pepsi... both are good, have downsides , and have their own supporters..until I can get a better pc, i mainly play console because its SMOOTH and not laggy and has good fps unlike my pc ....Is PC ultimately better? yes. Are there reasons to buy the console version? yes. does the console version have flaws? yes. but it has its reasons for what it does and why it exists and why it has sold over 13 million copies

Two computers = need two copies of the game plus the cost of both computers, suddenly = double the cost, doesn't it? 4 Player = quadruple the cost... doesn't sound as cheap all of a sudden, does it? Did you ever stop to think that here on the XBOX 360 EDITION forum that perhaps people prefer consoles? Some people prefer controllers to mouses and keyboards. Some people prefer Xbox Live or PSN to having to set up a server for their friends on the PC. Some people actually prefer the more limited scope and size of the console versions. The game is being constantly updated just like the PC version is. It may never exactly catch up but it's getting the same updates.

There are an endless amount of reasons why people choose what they choose. It all comes down to preference.

I like controllers better than mouse and keyboard. All of my friends that play Minecraft play it on consoles. It's just my preference. I could have the best gaming PC available and I would still play Minecraft on m Xbox One.

I have both PC version and xbox version. I play xbox because I enjoy playing on a console more. But... I can say I am looking forward to the bigger worlds/less lag on xbox one or the PS4.

I actually think it's easier with a mouse. I like having control with my hand instead of with a controller, which has limited speed. Also, what is the point on getting so many versions. I personally think it's a waist of money.

On 3 different things. It's kinda important if 3 things are free that you have to pay for.

Nope, why get the console. I mean, enjoy controllers, ok. But, personally, I wouldn't waist my money on two versions when one of them has stuff that you have to buy that is normally free. I mean, can you even change the controls on it?

You missed the obvious answer. Why? I'm just saying you personally. They gave their reasons. You haven't given a reason as to why you wanted to buy it.

Also, to add a thing to this: you say multiplayer is free on pc right? well you need to buy the internet to play multiplayer...but the consoles you can play splitscreen online - free multiplayer- no intenret bill required
Also, with the whole EULA thing going on, most servers will probably go pay to play...thats definitely free ... /sarcasm
but on xbox. 50 dollars will get you 12 months of free online on any game . ps3 gets it for free, but you seem aimed at xbox mainly
Plus, Java minecraft can get really buggy at tmes, especially with mods , so PC aint perfect either
Greedy server owners exist on pc, charging 1000 dollars for ranks
PC still lags
All those free texture packs and ksins? some of those probably contain viruses ...dont trust anybody or anything online in this kind of society


Now, so i dont seem biased, i will list the many flaws of console
mics glitch out a lot
gets laggy with 6+ people
small worlds
limited mineral amounts
even smaller nether and end
less features


BUT YOU KNOW IT WILL WORK
pc version? not so much ..sometimes JAva can be stubborn, sometimes it crashes etc
