so I get the message reached breeding limit. I go out to kill trapped animals and find(fall in) a hole with a dozen assorted animals. I kill them all and go back to base to breed more. Takes maybe a minute to sprint back. This is all done at night. When I get back I still can not breed. I thought animals spawned in the day so if I killed them at night I could breed more? Is there another issue I am unaware of? how do you guys handle the trapped animal situation? I think for holes I'll start placing lava traps to kill them off. I purposefully have my main base on the opposite side of the map from the extreme hills biome for this reason. this is all in hard survival.
You need to find animals that are stuck on mountains and kill them.
That's the main issue. If you have two people playing, you can have one person stay behind to breed the animals as soon as the other person kills the wild ones.
