Ok, so my village got wiped out by a zombie attack. I am left with 2 villagers, Adam and Steve, if you will, and I need to repopulate. I've got about 12 doors in the village, so that should enable me to at least double my population until I can get more houses built. (the village originally sported about a dozen, so my losses are great and tragic). I have locked both villagers in a house together and am expecting magic, but no magic is happening.
Does the XBOX version require a trade to initial mating? What's taking these two so long to get jiggy with it?
Its best to have all the 12 doors on the building where you trapped them. The other doors might be too far away. Or just make a building with doors all the way around and then just tear it down after you have enough villagers if you dont want it anymore. They will breed fast especially after the first baby grows up.
FINALLY got some mating action going, but I had to lock them in a tiny room and then wait it out. I placed 2x the number of doors I originally had and moved all doors closer to the holding cell. I was able to get a total population of 9 villagers thus far. But sheesh, it took forever. One would get hearts and the other paid no mind, then vice versa, and finally whammo.
Before TU14 they would breed like crazy and there would be little villagers everywhere. Now, not so much.

From what i have read in the past, and this is from the minecraft wiki if i can remember correctly, those small huts that are like 3x3 inside are supposed to be breeding huts or whatever. So u might want to try something along those lines, although i would not think this matters, but you never know.
Sounds like you solved your problem already, but just want to point 2 things out incase you need to breed more villagers:
Villagers will attempt to breed if there are less then 1 villager per 4 doors in your village.
Also, a neat trick to force villagers to breed to max population (and keep them there) without making a ton of doors is to build a villager breeding room/chamber above or below your village (I prefer below as it is very easy to hide underground). There are several different designs you can find online, some of them even store/protect a pair of villagers for breeding so that you never need to worry about a zombie attacking wiping out your entire population.

I half slabbed my entire village with stone slabs so mobs cant spawn and i put a 2 high cobble wall around it. Then i made a track from my house to the village and built walls around the track. Now that u can just push forward on the left stick to move the minecart it cuts down on the redstone use.

Could I be doing something else wrong?

I thought its supposed to be Adam and eve? lol
Unless Eve has male pattern baldness and a white beard, Steve it is...
