As we all know, in order to make white wool (from wool that has already been sheared), you need to dye the wool with bone meal. The problem in the current iteration of the game is that the only wool it will accept in this recipe is white wool, which is already white. Hence, as it currently stands, the crafting of white wool is pretty pointless. You can't turn colored wool blocks into white wool. If you want white wool and you don't have a white sheep, you have to find a newly spawned white sheep or you have to dye the sheep white. You can't dye sheared wool white. I was hoping this would be fixed in TU16, but it does not appear on the change log, so I figured it is worth posting about.

As noted in my post, you can most certainly dye a wool white and then shear it. What is broken is the ability to dye sheared wool. While it is usually more efficient to dye the sheep and not the wool, there are times when I run out of white wool and would like to simply dye some of my colored wool white to quickly finish a project instead of having to go through the process of shearing new wool, which takes more time.
I've yet to see it fixed in the PC version of the game...O_o
Unless of course it has and I just missed it.... I usually do what everyone else is implying, dye sheep first and shear later.
I think it is something that should be either deleted or edited to work with all wool colors; the later bit more a feasible idea. As is, in either version of the game it is one of the most useless and least efficiency recipes in game...>< I don't see why it is even in to be honest when it does really nothing but waste bonemeal at the moment.
I can understand where the OP is coming from, but this is something that has been like this for a long time in both versions of the game for whatever reason. Meh.
On another note I think might be best either in the bug thread or small suggestions threads that there already is. I am sure this has been mentioned before in the suggestions section a few times, mainly in the small thread. Seen it once in a prior bug thread once or twice.... Not much to do but be vocal in the right spot.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
You can make white wool with string from spiders too, right?
