I recently noticed in PE 0.9.0 can have almost" infinite" worlds(700,000 hard cap) (900 000 Stripe lands). I thought the Xbox 360 And PS3 have better teck. specs then a phone or ipod or a android device. Why can the PE have giant worlds with less teck spec. then a xbox BUT have bigger worlds?
Then this week 4J announced they were testing the xbox one and PS4 36 Times the current amount on Xbox 360 and PS3.That's a bit more then 30,000 blocks(That's big enough for me,i was originally hopping for 20,000)The Xbox one and PS4 has 8GB of RAM and it surprises me that it was't 500 000 blocks when the PE Was 700 000 blocks(I think the Xbox one has WAY MORE RAM the the PE'S Ram)
Disclaimer/ Short story/Message to Geneo or UP UP(I KNOW what you are going to say because I read a lot of their posts-but i would really like what you would say---You replay to every post,i have your respect.): I AM NOT AGAINST THE POCKET EDITION IN ANYWAY, BUT I AM JUST WONDERING HOW CAN THE PE HAVE INFINITE WORLDS WHEN THE XBOX ONE CANNOT WHEN THE XBOX ONE have more RAM. then the PE. (Sorry for caps)

Short story short.I went to the store and bought a prepaid card then i used it on PE
Because they're different. Because different choices were made about what to put in and what to sacrifice to put in what was put in. For one thing, PE doesn't have to run 4-player splitscreen.
I've been waiting for this question, and been wondering why it hasn't been asked before.
The simple answer is MC isn't programmed the same way on consoles the way is is on the PC and mobil versions are because consoles have their own unique features. Also, phones, iPads, etc. really don't have any control of what goes on them. Console content and how a program 'works', on the other hand, is totally controlled by MS and Sony. The ultimate "closed systems". Ram isn't the deciding factor- file size is- and that's where the programming between versions comes in.
As UpUp said, they really are different. As he also alluded to, the consoles have some features the PC and phones will never have, and vice versa. The console version(s) were programmed 'their' way from the get go (on purpose and for a reason) and neither will probably ever change. It's like a Ford and Chevy pickups- they may do the same thing, and even look (mostly) alike on the outside- but under the hood they're completely different, and the parts aren't interchangeable.
I've said it several times here before: you can't have it all.
(BTW, thanks for the kind words. I'm sure UpUp feels the same way.)

Well first off Microsoft and Sony have save file limits. This means that the save file for your world can only be so big. 4j also wants to be sure that people with the original arcade xbox 360 (256mb of flash memory) can play the game. So that is where the limited worlds come from on the Xb360 and ps3. Also, the next gen systems are only about 5,000 x 5,000 blocks.

4J Said on twitter they were testing worlds 36 times as big as the xbox 360 one

36 times bigger doesn't mean 36 x length and 36 x width. It means 6 x length and 6 x width. 6 x 6 = 36 times bigger.
why are we still talking about wanting bigger worlds on the xbox ?, this has being covered more times than any general election....ever,
xbox will never have bigger worlds than we have now, thats all you need to know
Everyone is talking about the Xbox One worlds, which will be bigger than the Xbox 360 worlds.
I agree that the 360 world size is plenty big enough, but I just had another thought.
There's people excited that 'infinite' size worlds are coming.... to their phone? Can you imagine trying to play an infinite world on a phone?
Are you kidding me?

I Should try on the PE walking to the end of the "Infinite" world in pure survival while Recording! Wonder how long would that take?
The consoles are *capable* of infinite worlds, however the save file size limit restricts them. It would also take a toll on the silky smooth FPS the consoles have with the world constantly generating when you walk farther from the center. This combined with things like split screen would just cause a jumpy FPS mess.

On the PC version, it would take approximately 820 hours total from the center of the map. In the Nether, it would take 104 hours. I haven't seen or done the math for the pocket edition if it's 700,000 rather than 30,000,000.

I think that 746,946 surface blocks is big enough for me. But I do see were you are coming from that the 360 system is much more capable to have a much larger world.

Yawn... infinite worlds and all people can seem to think to do with them is walk?
