Let's just hope it is taking this long because they want TU13 to be an actual update and not a bug fix for TU12.
But yes, this update is taking forever. Wouldn't mind a bit of the summer to actually play with the family before everyone is back to school.
lol i remember when summer break started and everyone was saying "im gonaa play TU12 so much" hahaha man they had no clue how long this was gonna be.

I've been bored of Single survival since I killed the ender dragon. I've been building a lot of stuff in creative though.

Yeah, it is not that TU11 is boring, for me it is just knowing that TU12 will require a new world so anything we are doing in TU11 now is basically gone. I just don't have the same motivation to create anything when I know we are starting a new world soon (or I hope soon).

after i killed the ender dragon i just started building in my survival world. i got a neat little house in the dessert, a small shack all the way to the left of the map in a swamp, a pyramid north of the desert house, and a very nice house on the side of a mountain that i am working on right now. it (so far) has 4 rooms. bedroom, then under that a chest and enchantment room, then under that a wheat farm, and to the left of the wheat farm a watermelon farm. (the chest and enchantment room are just one room.)

yes i know :'( i will never have a jungle in my solo map that i have spent so long on. i am conflicted on weather to give myself one jungle sapling or not so i can farm my cocoa beans but then its my survival and it would destroy the leaderboards. everything i would do would be for nothing.

It would be good to get an option like "reset nether" but where you can, without penalty, have a "Biome Item" chest appear in the world that contains potentially missing items: eg cactus, dark wood sapling, light wood sapling, jungle sapling, vines, lily pads. I'm not sure if mushroom island blocks should be included, and it doesn't seem to do much anyway.
My biggest concern (?) is nether quartz. There's no way I'm re-setting the nether in my more advanced world, I've done too much in there, and the nether fort doesn't generate the same way any more on that seed. I left the north half of my map unexplored in the slim hope of getting a jungle up there.
Actually I would rather that bit be in the bonus chest we already have...
good thing I don't really build in the nether...:D

yes thats exactly what we need. me i just got most torches i left in the nether then i reseted it. the fortress did move though and that bothered me a bit. but it was still on the same land my nether portal was so i wont complain about it to much

Unless you're resetting after an update of the nether terrain generation code, the location of the fortress will not move. What you're getting after a reset is the same basic nether for that seed, just a fresh one (i.e. without anything you've added but with any of the blocks you had previously mined)..
Bit pointless. I don't think you can add the bonus chest to worlds that never had it, though I guess they could change that, but also the bonus chest is purely to make the first minutes of the game less tedious (with punching wood) but loading it with gear you would normally have to explore for would ruin the bonus chest for most players.
If we ever get map sharing and some kind of written-book equivalent my long in gestation adventure map might be great. I've been working on a whole abandoned expedition / mysterious civilization backstory to my nether builds. I think if 4J don't see fit to add these features I'll just have to go to a new PC instead of a new console next gen.
not really... It may be a fresh start, but there is no guarantee that one planted you will get enough saplings for more trees. They already supply regular wood and planks. Stuff you would normally have to do yourself. That is the advantage of having the bonus chest, and also what it is there for. A fresh start, even if the world doesn't have those kind of things in them. What I get at is saplings are easy to come by in a forest or grove, but with worlds they seem to only generate a bit of certain terrains would luck out if that only tree did not provide saplings. Spruce and birch seem to have that problem sometimes. Jungle would be even worse when they add them. The ratio of saplings to a tree for those are sometimes 1 to 4 so taking down the bigger ones 2x2 would be best, and actually amount to a good supply; However we will not officially know till the next update comes out.
Adding another chest to the game wouldn't be a good idea, as that is extra programming on top of what we already have. One thing I do agree with though is the simply fact we can not check that box for older worlds. Would be nice if they could change that coding a bit, but probably wouldn't see that unless we can actually load the world in a different version within game. (not going through the cache and title update refresh part) I would love to see some of these on my older world that doesn't even have natural spruce.
They could move it to the world load options somehow, and that would make it do just that. Like I said though that would be a rework of that specific part of the code though. Easier than putting in the old code so it can be loaded separately. But since it is in a way seemingly part of the generation, I just don't see that happening soon...><
Still overall it is a great idea yours & the one I am referring to. Either way wouldn't truly bother me though, it is just my preference.

When it comes to the Bonus Chest giving you the ability of receiving items that normally you would never get is a good idea. The only problem I have with that feature is the chest itself...
I would like to turn it off, if I have no further use than to end up having one spawn in everytime I start up a world. Even leaving the chest there would stop this, but it just defeats the purpose. I remember how annoying it was whenever I first started using it and that chest drove me crazy! I eventually restarted another world soon after because of it, Lol.

Not sure I understand your post.
You can turn off the bonus chest before you generate a world; you can destroy (break and move) it anytime.
Ah, some good news. Didn't they say the change log would be released when they announced cert? That will give us something new to grouse about so I hope they make the official announcement soon.

The issue is that once you destroy the chest, the next time you re-enter the world a new one will spawn in approximately the same spot. It's not too bad if you're not building around the initial spawn point of the world... just leave one there and forget about it. However, it gets to be a real annoyance if you happen to build right over the initial spawn and you wind up having a chest sitting on your roof all the time. I agree that the host should be able to turn the chest off or on after the world is generated. Off to get rid of the chest annoyance after it is no longer needed and on if you want so that you can give newbies a boost when they first enter the game.

Huh. I only used it my first game so I had no idea. That is weird feature.
