Withers? I have only seen that thing once in a video. (I think it was a wither anyways...) What exactly is a wither? o.o
the wither boss is a three headed black skeleton that when hits you your hearts start to wither away, hence the wither part. and wither skeletons are black skeletons that weild a sword and when you are hit your hearts wither away
They mostly still are. They made all the item drops 3D models, but then did not update them to look good as 3D models. But the difference between the sprites we currently have and the 3D models is -- take the diamonds, for instance. In our current version, the diamond sprite always faces you (except from above or below), so you only see it on the ground as you'd see the picture of it in your inventory. With the new 3D models, it spins in place on the ground, has the diamond face on two sides, and if you move around it, you can see the flat sides of it.

Anyone notice that the TU 12 screens don't have clouds? This could mean ether of four things:
1. They haven't coded them in yet. It could have to do with the height limit, they need to be reimplemented. It could be one of the bugs their fixing.
2. Clouds are simply off (may be because they have a bug they need to fix).
3. They raised the clouds so they are above the new build height.
4. They added clear weather. Sunny but no clouds.

5. They're inside a building that offers a very tiny viewspace out into the sky at a horizontal angle (and not upwards toward the clouds), so you can't see many details about what lies beyond the window.

Well obviously yes. I'm talking about the screens that are outside.

The "3d" models were also for dropped item stacking was it not? I wonder if the drop item limit will be raised with this?
That's the first thing I thought of after seeing this.
Eh... its not a rail IMO...its too 'THICK' looking and kind of roundish than rectangle like.
Yes it is thick, but remember that we might also get the item stacking feature, where similar items get sucked up into one pile when they are next to each other making them look more in a pile. Take a look at this picture, You can clearly see the two silver rails, and the 4 wooden bars on the rail. You can see in the red underlined, that is the front of the drop. You can clearly see the rail, and then the blue underlined area is the side pushing out to make it "3D". Who knows, it could be either, but i'm 95% it's a rail considering it looks more like a rail than a cobble stone fence.

I don't know a lot of the finer details of the PC version features, I only know what I do about the PC version from the youtubers I watch.
That'd be amazing if they were able to raise the limit though. Be dandy to have some higher output farms going.

I took another look, closer look too and it does kind of look like rails now. I'm starting to see the iron bars on the side and the lined wood in the middle. I now just noticed the whole thing about the 3D item drop and all that too, so it may be rails now that i know.

It honestly can be anything, we'll just have to wait and see!

Well, what they did on the PC version was turn the item drops into 3D models, then they added in that when more than one dropped, they would congeal into a single item on the ground. However, when you picked it up, it would still put 2 into your inventory. So you could drop 64 items on the ground, and it would all bunch up and form into a single 3D model. Then when you got to pick it up, it'd still be the full 64 stack, not just one thing.
I also doubt that strange thing is a rail... This si the 3D model rail on the PC. To my knowledge it has never changed..

I'm leaning towards it being a rail and that the photo has been somewhat distorted by the motion of the item as the screenshot was being snapped.
Who knows, maybe we are getting a cool, non-PC feature where stacked items get thicker, so you can visually get an idea if something is 1 wheat, 16 wheat, 32 wheat etc.
Thought pc already had that, unless they took that out... it was a 1.4 feature I believe. or 1.3... don't remember when, I just know that one of the youtubers showed that feature off in one of their worlds.
As far as that rail stack goes, which is most definitely not cobble walls... that is a decent example of stacking. The diamond is another, as that looks to be similar to the double thickness of a second count. Sure looks like we are getting that feature, which is nice and useful. That is one feature, the auto stacking thing, that I almost forgot about wanting, as it makes the item count less. Less being that a stacked item that has compiled itself up to a stack each counts only as 1 drop. Then is when they merge... or if they can merge...
It is sooo nice to see the chiseled stone in the backdrop, although would be nice if there was a way to make all those special stones; ie the mossy & cracked. Wonder if they are adding the special sandstone as well.. hmm...
Unsure if that is carpet as that just looks like wool to me. Otherwise you would see some sort of height difference near the wood. Still would be nice if it was/is.
Not overly fond of the mob heads if it is creative only. Since that would only have use to me in survival, as in a trophy display of some kind.
3d items don't really thrill me, but the fact that they put it in is fine, it just adds more depth..>< Beyond all those the only thing I hold interest in that is obtainable in survival for sure is the cats.
Who ever posted a single rail 3d object could be wrong, as that is only a single rail and that stack in the back looks to be a full stack, where it shows more than 1 rail attached/thick. Plus it is at an awkward angle. The reason I said it can't be the cobble wall is it is not centered. Fence type objects are usually centered on a block.:D

That's excellent news, maybe there is a good chance they may have been able to raise the max amount of drop entities in the world if stacks can be rendered as single entities.
I hope they release the changelog soon. I wonder what else they're bringing forward?
On a completely unrelated note, Nickelodeon released a trailer for Book 2 of The legend of Korra!
I have the DVD of Book 1 and already watched it 6 times! I cannot wait until September!

It doesn't really look the same to me.
Correct me if I'm wrong, cause I've never played the PC version. When throwing 1 item to the ground it remains pretty this, hencewhy the rail in this picture is thin. The more you throw down the thicker the 3D model gets. As seen in this video here
I was thinking that object behind the apple was redstone. The sandstone looks like a different texture in the back left corner, but that is just from the lighting.

So it seems possible that they threw a stack of rails down instead of 1. Again, I could be wrong. At this point in time for me, this seems logical.
