Maps do not matter. They only show you the stuff you explored while you have a map in your hand. You can explore every single chunk of your world without the map in your hand and it'll only load up the parts when you had the map in your hand. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
darn i have had this map for so long but i also have been waiting for jungles. i dont want to abandon the map but id it doesnt have a jungle i will feel as if im missing out
I'm assuming the coding is this "ANVIL" I've heard so much about?..
I mean, from what we've seen, it's a lot, and that's just the stuff they've chosen to show us. Plus I assume it's taking a while because they need to test how the higher build limit works, and if it causes much lag, etc..
yeah i guess that makes allot of sense

I could have sworn hearing that idea once before. Can't remember where though...
Especially for players who rarely replant what trees have been cut down, this would be an interesting feature. Would feel more like a natural world and less of a "everyday video game".
Now, other than the Cocoa beans, the Redstone Lanterns will be something I shall mess with alot in the days to come.
Oh, that and the Iron Golems... I have plans for them.
Yes it was suggested before... Of course then we didn't have the suggestion section up. We only had 1 section for the xbox...lol
Also I know 2 games that do that already, both are voxel variants.... Shouldn't be too difficult to figure those two out if you've played them... I know I do, as I like to have my variety.:D
But yes it would be a good idea if implemented well enough...
I was one of many that suggested that a while back before the suggestion section came about... not the first though, not that it matters..lol

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
What I took from some of the stuff from Twitter was there was a lot of architecture changes needed for texture pack support. I'm sure there is other stuff as well, but I think we'll be closer to texture packs after this update. Just hope there isn't a ton of bugs this time around.

If 4J is taking their time on this one, as it would seem, then perhaps many of the problematic "Bugs" will be indentified and fixed beforehand.

I barely remember how the forums were for the 360 Edition, as I wasn't really into posting till now. Also, I may have an idea as to what 2 games you mean but I believe I will leave it at that. I'll end up getting a headache from "thinking" about it, lol.

That's the same thing people were saying for the End update (TU9). When it came out, it was the most game-breaking buggy update yet and needed two bug fixes to fix. Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely love if they actually spent a ton of time this time actually working on the countless bugs that have been reported and preventing new bugs. I'm just not getting my hopes up this time around.

Well, I did say "perhaps"...
Lol, we'll just have to wait and see how things turn out.
I just can't wait for the update. I really hope It will come out this month but I doubt it. Again I just hope, lol. I don't care if comes out until
August or even the month after August, just as long as we get it and it has the new features working fine. Though again, I hope its this month as I can't stay patient that long until August or later really, I can try too contain myself but I also doubt that haha.
Define "huge." The amount of visible stuff added doesn't reflect the amount of work needed to convert the architecture of the game from McRegion to ANVIL... and that is clearly what 4J's tweet is talking about. There has also already been some 1.3.1 stuff added into our 1.1 version of the game and some 1.3.1 stuff and 1.4.2 stuff hasalready been confirmed for TU12. To go from 1.1 to 1.3.1 on the PC took from Jan 12, 2012 to August 1, 2012 (208 days), and they had nothing from 1.4.2 in the game at that point. Our TU9 (version 1.1 equivalent) didn't come out until April 4, 2013... so if 4J gets 1.3.1 into the game before mid-November 2013, they'll be right up with the update pace of the PC and perhaps we would even be a little ahead because we already have some 1.4.2 features and even one 1.5 feature (smelting of netherack).
It shouldn't take as long as on PC because they don't have to invent it. And 4J spend much less time tweeting and mucking about than Mojang.
If the update were expected to take months and months more, I doubt they'd have started teasing it in June. I think it will be out this month or early next.
I also think we will see this update before the end of July and perhaps the rest of 1.3.1 sometime in late September (allowing for a bug fix update in late August).
Not sure why they can't give an estimated release time? Are we talking weeks? Months? Next year? What is wrong with giving an approximate time frame?
They do give an approximate time after they release it to Microsoft for cert testing. Knowing that it hasn't gone for cert testing yet tells you that it's not going to be within the next 10 to 14 days. Other than that, common sense after 11 TUs should tell everyone that they are not likely talking about next year, but likely something within a month or two at the outside after the teaser photos are released. A big problem with giving out "guessimates" is that then they get bogged down with furious demands for explanations if they happen to fall a day or two behind the guessed release date.
I suspect it's coming somewhat soon, it seems like before every update they add new avatar gear and stuff like that. And they just released some new avatar gear (Ender Wings FTW).

Well then if this is the case, I hope it does come soon. Though they did say in Twitter it will take some time as they are still working on it and had LOTS of software architecture too. That was on the 5th and its the 11th so they are still probably working on it and still will for a while.
