I am surprised that we haven't had anything new about bug update for TU 11? They pretty silent...
As for skins: Yay...I guess. Texture Packs? Lol jk jk come soon I know
i hope they add CoterieCraft_4, Last_Days_1.5, Faithful, and/or Terreria_7. i dont like terreria because its just a 2D minecraft but the texture pack for pc minecraft is awesome

I dont get how pc can come out with a snapshot every couple weeks the just gor horses and now they are getting more items why cant 4JStudios put out more updates like this we get one every couple months unless its a bug fix the we get it a little bit after the update
I know but why make a game if it needs to constantly be updated? we will never catch up. might as well give up on it. as for me im going to save up for a gaming pc and then forget about the xbox version cuz there isnt much excitment with no mods they should make a huge DLC/Mod with tons of items and mobs and portals etc that would make the game a million times better then i would play both.

Why indeed - I supposed 5 million sold and counting couldn't possibly have anything to do with it(?)
If you want to play on the PC for whatever reason, then you should certainly play on the PC. For me, I like the Xbox version and don't care whether or not it ever catches the PC. I enjoy being able to play local splitscreen in the comfort of my livingroom with my friends. If I wanted the PC experience, I would play on the PC. Nothing is forcing me to play on the Xbox. I'm playing on the Xbox because I enjoy playing on the Xbox. I have also enjoyed the fact that they started the game at an earlier stage so that we could also learn new things in stages as they were added. Part of the PC Minecraft experience lies in how the game was developed over a long period of time on the PC. Peope who began playing Minecraft on the PC back in the Alpha stage have been able to discuss and participate in the development of the game as a community. I'm glad that they decided to give us Xbox folks a chance to experience a part of that as well (despite the Xbox environment being closed source and not really conducive to frequent updates... by introducing it on the Xbox at an early version and then updating it periodically over the last year.
dont fet me wrong i like that they gave us the xbox version but i wish they would update it a little quicker
more often updates would be great, however i am fine with waiting for better quality updates. I personally prefer playing on the Xbox, I have played on the pc and it is just not as fluid as it is on the 360. Even though the graphics may run smoother on pc, the controls are much better on the Xbox.

The problem is the quality has gone down, not up. Look at the TU9 fiasco.

Don't get me wrong... I have absolutely no animosity towards anyone who plays on the PC or who wants to play on the PC. People should play a game where they are happy playing it. The question, as I understood it, was why a developer would choose to release Minecraft on the Xbox at an early version and then update it... rather than just release it has a complete game on par with the PC. Of course, I don't know why they did it this way; but in hindsight, I'm glad they did. If they had just released the "complete" game , then these past few months of participating on these forums as we discussed various aspects of the Xbox version of the game as it developed would have never occurred... am I'm just saying that I'm grateful for this experience as well.
I agree they do need to make the update a little faster we probably want get the jungle update till may, now that we have to wait on this other bug fix. I was hoping minecraft would keep me busy till gta v or watch dogs came out. But they're taking too long. I'm going to have to find other games to play till the main games are release later this year.

Can you name a single game that is as large as Minecraft that has been updated or released without a single bug popping up? Did any Minecraft PC update ever come bug free?
No game developer has an easy job making games or doing updates. There will always be bugs and glitches. At least 4J is willing to roll out a bug fix within days if the bugs are severe enough.

Think of it like this, not all users experience the bugs someone else experiences.
For example:
1. I have never had an animal disappear on me.
2. I never had issues with nether portals crashing my world.
3. My chests never disappeared.
Just because I've never experienced them doesn't mean everyone who has is lying...it just means I haven't experienced them.
For all we know, 4J has a small team testing the game. There are hundreds of users who probably don't experience some of the bugs that get reported.
I believe MCX360 passed 5mil sales? (forgive me I don't remember the exact number) Out of those that play...we vastly outnumber 4J and their testers.
The person who mentioned WoW having no bugs earlier...there are bugs...I've experienced them and they are a pain. A lot of Mist of Pandaria quests bug out if you are in a group with another person doing the quest. Credit isn't given, the NPC for the quest doesn't show up.
There is also exploits depending on the type of server you play on. "Phasing" going to your personal farm makes it so that you lose any angry guards from town, or if someone is attacking you...you disappear. This area was also the main hub for both Horde and Alliance...for hours you would have people "phasing" in and out killing players of the opposite faction abusing the "phasing" so that they could rack up their Honor killings, cause you know...it's fair when you can't even target/attack the person who is attacking you / sicking guards on you when all you're doing is buying from a seed merchant.
Big releases have their bugs. I've seen a bug in the Watch Dogs game where someone jumped inside of a building they weren't supposed to be in and get stuck. I can think of CoD and Halo in multiplayer maps with hiding in walls too...
Basically the point I'm making, all games have bugs. Players of course will always find bugs.
I think the issue is a lot of the big bugs (lighting, creeper explosion lag) should have been spotted during testing, I do wonder sometimes if 4J even bother testing anything specific or they add things, release the Update and then let us all test it for them.
oh man those creeper explosions bug me so much because when they are about to explode they dont so i end up wondering if they did or didnt until about 1 minute later they did

I recently replied to a post arguing that battle field does huge updates without crashing servers, and i replied with an article that talked about the number of sales of each game, Minecraft had over 6 millions and battlefield had roughly half of that. The only thing with the minecraft numbers is that it was only counting active members of xbox Live that own the game. so there could very well be more sales than that.
Back on topic Halo is my favorite game and it has new bugs with each update as does any game. For instance there was a game on the 64 that would act perfectly in a certain level unless you opened the door 1000 times, then you could glitch through the entire level and "fall beneath" the level. The point is all games have bugs and it may take hundreds of times for a glitch to be exploited even a single time, game code is a finicky mistress. and as Kiori said not everyone will experience the same bugs, I for one during an update couldn't go to the nether at all without the game crashing, however, I never had a chest disappear until 2 days ago.

Yep, no game is immuned to this (I can't think of the word I wanted to use)

The number I mentioned was a figure. Not everyone who bought the game still plays the game. I haven't touched the game since the last update. I jump on and test a few things now and then and then jump off.
Your post brings up another valid point...how to say...when a game developer designs a game, they think of one way to play. Players...on the other hand...will find hundreds, if not thousands of way to play the same game that the developers would never have thought of.
For example...
I remember reading the bug thread where players with PVP turned off, would shoot an arrow at each other..."supposedly" knowing it shouldn't hurt them...but it did.
Knowing PVP turned off, why try it?
Same with Arrows and Dogs.
Players could shoot their arrow straight up, and on the fall back down, would hit themselves. Their dogs would in return attack what hurt their owner...but because they are AI and not real animals...they can't tell the difference between "master" and "enemy" so they end up killing their master by mistake.
I can list a lot of bugs that are found by ways people could sit and ask "Why would you do that?"
i remember when we used bugs to our advantage instead of complaining about them. when the mc forum didnt have as many members (before this account). we never complained about bugs all we talked about is what is coming and when is it coming. what will be added and when will it be added. we never talked about suggestions for mc or all the bugs are annoying. we instead used the duplicating bug to our advantage and instead of it being a bug we simply called it a glitch. back when minecraft was before TU5. i think tu5 was when they added enderman. that was the first update i ever had since i bought minecraft on TU4. back then we didnt even call the updates TU# we just called them updates

Things change. I joined the forums in November of 2011 and lurked for several months before making my first post. I liked Minecraft, and I mostly watch Let's Players instead of playing myself since my PC I had at the time could not handle minecraft. (256mb of ram sucks...) The xbox section was newly created, and it was just the one section that was tied in with Pocket Edition under the "Other Platforms" category. Now look how big we are! We actually grew too big for our britches!
Minecraft evolves, the community evolves. It doesn't matter if it's called a TU or an Update. They are the same thing. The minecraft community is also not one to keep their opinions to themselves though.
