Apology accepted, and I apologize if I did sound like I was snapping.
I can understand why you prefer consoles. (Although I prefer PC for strategy and top down games)
As I mentioned in another post, it's not just jungles I'm waiting for, just for all terrain gens to be finished. At the moment, I can leave 60% of my current world unexplored, and hope that when jungles are added, that they form in the unexplored region. However, it's the explored regions that always seem to get messed up.
Larger maps will never happen on the xbox. (Keep an eye out for the new xbox later this year). Even if larger maps were to happen now, it wouldn't solve the issue that many are facing.
I have a seed that I'm on at the moment. One of them 'perfect seeds' that you spend 6 hours looking for. Anyway, I spent 3 hours lighting up a 'triple intersecting' ravine and ajoining caverns. . . however, I've not built anything yet. Just a chest to hold the gold/iron/Lapis/Diamond that I've collected. And I've cleared a forest of about 100+ trees, so it's like a massive open space surrounded by trees. Anyway, I digress. . . . I really want to play on this seed, but I'm wondering whether it's worth it.
Do I build big, and keep this as my 'final' seed. Or do I leave MC alone for 6 months, hoping that the terrain gens will finally be finished by then? (With the latter option, I probably wont be on the forums for that time)

I'm going to go ahead and say make it your big world and play. This is a video game and you think it's fun so there's no reason you should have to wait. It does mean you'll need to restart but your old world is always there, you can always go back and making a new world is a fresh experience. ( Especially if it will have the new jungles.)
During the 1.6/1.7 period I spent all my free time in may and then all of my summer break on one world, and as you can imagine it was huge. But when 1.8 came out I just moved on and now I have a new big world. I always like to go visit my 1.7/1.6 world as it's not going anywhere.
tl;dr
You enjoy the game, no point in restricting yourself. You should keep playing.

You know I'm as disappointed as you are about the fact that this is not the update that is going to bring about an end to biome changes; but I agree with CBfstudios that you should just continue to play and enjoy the great seed you've found... before it all changes again. I'm finding my one chest challenge is really forcing me to build more in the seed I'm playing right now since I have no space to stockpile anything... also, I'm finding myself playing for longer periods at a time since I have to be able to fit into the one chest before I quit the game. So, despite knowing that everything is going to change, this seed will probably wind up having several signifcant builds in it... and quite frankly, I'm quite enjoying it.
Looks like we'll be getting the End (which we knew), stackable signs, nether brick half slabs, sandstone stairs, spawn eggs, fire charges, item frames, and water dispensed from dispensers. Not the biome finale we were hoping for, but some good stuff. Anyone spot anything else? Is that light colored wood in the bottom left pic?
Other things.. It looks like steve is climbing vines in picture 4...
I'm not sure what the "X" is marking on the map in picture 3.. custom markers, fortress? Or maybe someone made a large wool X in the middle of the ocean.
Wishful thinking maybe, but the forest seems really dense on the map in picture 3 put this with climbable vines... jungle (still hoping)?

Ok so you did mention what I was going to LOL, Not sure on the wood, and I didnt see the fire charges, shame about the jungle though I was half hoping this would be my final world for a while but guess not just yet.

The X is shown at the location of the End Portal if another player is in the End
item frames huh... hmm... that is interesting, nice. something we could use. So far no signs of the upside down stuff...:( Which would be one thing I would hope for. Oh well... This is only the first set... yay for sandstone stairs...lol

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I saw someone elsewhere say that the light block in the inventory on the bottom right left might be smooth sandstone or chiseled sandstone. Does it look that way to anyone else. That would be pretty cool.

Fire charges have been confirmed elsewhere (sorry I don't have the link right now) but I think the top left item frame is a fire charge.

Yep - I forgot to mention the vines. Good catch.

Well even when zoomed in at the original sight it is hard to tell.. But looks more smooth than chiseled. Either way if it is 1 of those 2 then that is a good thing... another block to play with...:D

Also it was mentioned these came from a split screen capture. So different sized UI interfaces, also players 2 and 4 are crouching and yet the little person is not showing in the upper left hand corner as it usually does... So option to disable those.
good catch nightwalker... being able to resize the UI would be great. Curious, if you crouch now do you disappear from the map? I know the other users can't see your gamertag, but not sure if you disappear from the map - I've probably just never noticed since I don't do any PVP. That would explain why those two players don't appear on the map in the bottom left which was why I didn't originally think it was split screen.
Also, is the X on the map when a player is in the End in the PC version as well? I don't really see why you would want that.

You can already mod controller support in yourself.
