I think everyone might be taking the whole "possibility of mods" thing the wrong way.

If they are added to the game, they won't be mods because Microsoft does not allow mods. They will have to be DLC. That means they will cost money because 4J stated a while ago that updates are free, DLC is not.

I highly doubt it will be allowed that you can slap a mod onto a flash drive and play the Xbox version with it. If anything, stuff like the Aether mod will come out as DLC.

That's why I put mod in quotations. I understand that user created mods will never be allowed.

They are however taking inspiration from user created mods on the PC that could be made into dlc "mods"

I for one was about to post the same thing. So many people on this forum are under the impression that because stuff on the PC is free, they are completely obligated free stuff on the xbox. When of course it's not logical.

I also understand DLC is not free. I would be happy to pay for any and all DLC.

I am happy to pay for any and all DLC that is appropriately priced (i.e. the price properly correlates to the amount and quality of the final product).

I feel like a majority of MCxbla DLC will be fairly priced. The skins show that so far, but we can't be certain.

eh.... the skins arent exactly like the ones you can find on the other websites, they were each made by 4J and as for mods, they'll most likely be completely new ones made by 4J but they might be inspired by already existing mods. same for texture packs...

I know you understand, but after reading through a lot of peoples posts, I don't think they understand.

From what I've read, it seems people still think we'll be allowed access to user created mods. There seems to be quite a bit of misconception going on. I think everyone should just stop using the word "mod" and start calling it expansions or DLC.

so, july 13 we have to have our update, or maybe we might get it today.

I'm expecting it this Friday morning like the last update.

About the mods...don't they have to get the permission of the mod creator to implement it? Just curious.

About the Texture Packs...will it also affect the person you're playing split-screen with? Or do u think that they would have the option to turn it off?

according to the twitter that i saw, they plan on bring it out on the 13th.
