Yup, Spawn eggs and Sheep regrowing their wool. Also a Nether Reset option and climbable vines. That's the more. No where did they ever state anything about Jungles. Stuff like this wouldn't happen if people didn't assume.
Its not like there's no precedent for it. They never stated anything about Snow Plains either and yet we got them. We were hopeful that they would see the need to finish off the Biome coding ASAP. That didn't happen and its a disapointment.

If that is all, then there really is nothing in that update for me personally... Since what I am waiting for is the aesthetic stuff, like upside down slabs/stairs & colored wood (planks, slabs, stairs) as I have mentioned many times before elsewhere....lol
Jungles would be nice, but I can wait on those, as I am in no rush. But if truely that is all then this next update is not going to really excite me much.
Oh well, what can you expect, I am patient enough as I continue digging...:D

Anybody disappointed should be disappointed in themselves for hyping up something that was never going to happen anyway.
Seems like the frustration is due more to 4Js misplaced priorities. They never said jungles would be in the next update, but why not? Considering the havoc that adding new biomes wreaks on existing worlds you would think getting all the biomes in order would be #1 priority. Even if the delay behind the jungles is due to technical issues, theyre currently focused on the end, instead of getting things in order that need to be got in order, ya dig?
This hasnt been an issue for me personally, but reading this thread now, i feel peoples frustration, and now im a bit frustrated myself.
Also, if villager trading is not in the next update, so help me god... I almost wish they would take the extra time and add completed features, instead of sprinkling half finished stuff throughout the game and making us wait forever until they finish it.

I think the reason we're having this dilemma is because 4J turned what would've been one big update into 2 (Technically 3 so far, 4 with the Bug Fix after the End). If they would've decided to wait until the End was finished to release the update then we'd still not have Breeding or Enchanting or Brewing etc... They have a plan and road map that they are following. So after the End they won't be tied to 1.0 anymore, and can move on to 1.2.3 and add Jungle Biomes, Ocelots, etc...
Well look at it this way: By not including jungle and beaches in the next up date (not probably the following one) you could safely assume your TU7 world will be safe for another three months or so.
I think a lot of people should also be glad of the nether reset option (if that's true) which so many asked for. I think that's pretty strong evidence that 4J listen and act on it.
Now, if there's any way they can give us terrain selection options: like "boot in TU2, TU5, TU7" options that only affect biome code, so that our old worlds could be viewed normally again (or even new worlds generated in the older codes!) - maybe if enough people start communicating that idea it might happen!
Hopefully if they do add something like that they will not mark them as TU#... Well at least the first 2. 1.7.3 & 1.8.2, as those I never knew the tu # for them... and mainly only knew them by their announced comparison #. Would be easier to manage I would think. But a decent idea. Even though the reset for nether is there I just hope that the warts are fixed by then... otherwise that reset is useless for one of my worlds...>< Still though as nice as it would be, it doesn't really add much to a 1.7.3 map, since they didn't have a stronghold then... brewing doesn't interest me really all that much, but the blocks do.

man i would absolutely LOVE to have the option to go back to the old terrain generation. the new maps are just boring and flat. i realllllyyyyyyyy miss the old crazy mountains. no idea why minecraft would do away with them. bad call imo.
I mentioned previously about me being upset about Jungles not being added. I just wanted to clarify that it doesn't matter if it's Jungles, Mars like terrain, or Heaven clouds. I just want to be able to settle on a map without it being naffed up.
The thing that is annoying me is that the past 2 pages or so have been people complaining, or shoukld I say 'airing thier views', yet 4J don't comment. Some of them were online yesterday as well.
I do, actually. I also like to build in the end after the dragon is gone. It also wouldn't be professional if 4J decided to skip something as large as a new dimension that the pc version has. And if they decided not to add it there would be many people complaining about it as well.
But i'm not trying to force you to like it. think of it this way; Once the end is finished they never have to 'waste time on it' again and they can work on everyones precious jungles. Besides, the wait for tu9 is probably ( just my guess) the middle of march. I think you'll be fine.
you've got me all wrong. I'm not saying that I don't want the End. I'm saying that I would like all the biome changes to be completed before adding new content.
You may be able to get to the End in 4 hours, and 'complete' the game in 5. However, I prefer to take my time. It may take me 2 months to get to the Nether, afteer completing most of my overworld builds. IF I wait 2 months or so, then they add a new biome (TU11?), then It'd ruin my oveerworld and I'd have to staret a new overworld. Then it'd take me another 3-4 months to get to the End.
Sure, I could go into Creative, kit myself with Diamond everything and enchanted bows, then go right to the End. . . and hey, I've cleared the game in a few hours. However, I would like to plsy the game on survival, and legit' 'clear' the game, without the help of creative. If I wanted it to be easy, then I'd have finished the game practically already.
So, before you start runnin your mouth, think before you speak. We not all want to just rush it y'know.
PC has 'almost' infinite worlds. If a new terrain is added to the code, you could just move to a new chunk and get a whole 'new map'. As the Xbox is limited in world size, we have limited map to do this with. This is the problem.
Also, you made the point that you like to build in the End after the dragon is gone. So it sounds like you already have the PC version. So why are you so excited about having it again on the xbox version.
TU1 was the day -one release of the game (maybe it had a day-one patch?)
TU2 was the clay update.
TU5 was the 1.8.2 update
TU7 added mushroom biomes and end portals
I don't think the other updates made a significant change to the biome code, I'm just going from memory though, could always read the changelog thread!
An easier way to label it, were they to add in this "load your game in older version?" option, would be to call
pre-TU5 "Classic",
TU5/6 "Beta 1.8.2"
and TU7/8 "1.01" or whatever
I probably would forget most of that...><
Cause like I said I know them as 1.7.3 & 1.8.2, it is after that they actually labeled them... now if they had both labels that would be fine. I just would not be able to remember which is which that way if only tu was mentioned. Regardless I believe I would rather have 1.7.3 over having Classic, since there was a few things that were added to the game that I like in that version. Pistons included...
EDIT: Must have misread...>< Anyway yes probably that double label per say would be nice...

Hey Ragnarok,
So a person decides to speak his opinion and you bite his head off? He had the guts to go against what most of this "twitter feed" think, myself included. It s his opinion. And the xbox version is better than the pc version, easier faster and simpler. thats why he prolly wants it on the xbox. As a side note, not sure if anyone else brought this up, but they all but confirmed fire charges. Latest tweet from where i am. i think i can get a link. https://mobile.twitter.com/4JStudios/status/302719140244881409

I wasn't biting his head off. . . . looking back, it probably looks that way, but I meant it the nice way.
I know it's his opinion. And it counts. I'm usually the one who stands up against the crowd and defends my comments, and I respect it when someone else do too.
I am looking forward to the End, but as I said, I'm just sooo frustrated that there'll be no point as each world will probably get messed up.
Just to be absolutely clear, I'm talking about a toggle which applies purely to the world generation code.
The practical effect would be you could load your "1.7.3" world without it snowing in your desert, but you'd still be able to craft golden apples and pistons, use ender pearls to teleport and (due to the coming nether reset feature?) make potions, and enchant items.
Well of course...lol The only unfortunate thing is if you had already saved it in another version... Then that toggle would not really truely work... Well at least not on my primary world. I do have a few that were saved and still have the original save backed up...:D
Too bad you couldn't add structures...lol oh well, would be nice if they could.. At least if the "Generate seed in this version" was about. That might be asking a bit much considering. Having a toggle though to switch versions would be interesting, but more likely would be best as an option in the options menu for a toggle. Else have something in the world file defining what version is was last saved in to keep the biome structural weather system...
Makes sense... I do know what you are refering to easily... I just have a different take I think...O_o on that topic...lol

I hope I didn't sound stern either, as I wasn't trying to be but hey, it's not easy to convey emotion through words on a screen.
I do understand your frustrations about needing to update worlds, as in my worlds I've got several cities structures and many accomplishments built and I do not like the idea of starting over to get some jungles. And as much as it sucks all we can really do is deal with it, as there's simply no solution unless world sizes ever get increased, although if that happens everyones world will have an awkward square shaped moat separating the old and the new world!
And about the last part, yes I do have the pc version and played it for a long time, but as someone who grew up with consoles I enjoy the game much more with a controller in hand, so now I only ever play my main world on the xbox, which lacks the end.
I kinda wish they would implement the feature of choosing which painting you are hanging on your wall. Gets tiring trying to find the right one that you want.

Plus 1 for the 'previous version thing'.

Some PC elitist / mod maker probably will do that just to spite the xbox version.
