Somewhat disappointing to see today (Feb 14) that jungles and ocelots will not be in TU9, but have been deferred to a later update.
That's pretty much how it's always been. After all, they did plan on only adding the End in TU9, but now they're adding a few other things. So they really didn't get deferred, they were never planned to be in TU9.
I used to support MC and 4J sooo much, 'batteling' all those people who slagged the game and developers off. Now they say they're not adding jungles?
Another 6 months of waiting for all the terrain gen updates to be completed just so I can start a map that wont get messed up and cause a nuclear winter!
Resetting the Nether. . Couldn't care less to be honest. Think about it, what's the point in resetting the Nether if you have to start a new map evey other update cause of the 'winter'.
The End . . Couldn't care less. . . What's the point in getting to the End when I'll have to start a new world in a few months cause of the 'Winter'.
Spawn eggs .. Couldn't care less . . What's the point in creating a huge multiplayer map, then having in freeze over in a few months?
Yeah, I know some are gonna say " Stop complaining, It's a game, a work in progress one" . . I know, I used to say that! Now . . Now, I have to wait another 4-6 months?

I have to agree with you. I don't mind starting new worlds, but I was sort of looking forward to having these biome additions over and done with.
OMG, and I thought I was going to get crucified. LOL
It just annoys me soooo much. Why couldn't 4J get all the things that would mess up a world out of the way BEFORE adding new things? That'd make sense to me.
So far, I've started probably 30+ worlds, get some things done, then think what the hell's the point. It'd be like doing the first level of Halo 30+ times just for the sake of it. . makes zero sense!

I can only guess (and I'm hoping I'm wrong)... There may be some concern about not being able to get all the game up to 1.2.3 to fit onto the Xbox at all, so they may be giving priority to the End rather than jungles... making jungles expendable if necessary. It could also be that adding height to the map may be posing a bit of a problem and perhaps the jungle environment is really not practical without a height increase. Just wild guessing of course... but I'm still disappointed nonetheless. I was really looking forward to having a pet cat, jungle wood, and being able to grow cocoa beans... I like cookies.

I certainly hope it's not this. MC is NOT nor will it ever be a competitive game where the point is "to win." Leaving out key creative options to focus on competitive ones is just pandering to wrong crowd.

This makes worlds more sense and it's an explanation I'd buy in a heartbeat. Frankly, I'm getting one of the three things I care about in this update (spawn eggs). If the other things include different colored wood and upside-down elements, I could care less about whether the end comes or not.
I mentioned a while ago, in another thread, that I believe that a lot of the updates that people on here are wanting will not ever be on the 360. I think, that alot will be left for the next gen xbox, where the capabilities will be better.
Honestly. The End? Who needs that? A lot prolly. But it isnt too interesting to me. All that faintly attracts me is the ender pearls. Faintly. Maybe, maybe the extra building space. Come on 4J, jungles are all we really want!
I feel like my dreams and ideas have been crushed by a gauntlet.. pulverized to dust by high hopes. If this means we get no Jungle or ocelots... does that mean no upsidedown stair/slabs? If so, wow... I am just lost of words. Ooo... the end... yay I guess.
Really bummed out about no Jungle biomes.. I've held back on doing more than fooling around in Creative waiting for TU9 to include the last Biomes, and now its going to take longer? Unless they give us something a lot more interesting than the End in TU9, like the multicolored wood items, corner stairs, upside down stairs/slabs or some neat stuff from further along the PC update line (Beacons, Item Frames, Pots, etc.) then I'll probably just hang up my pickaxe till TU10.
And its not even about Jungles themselves. Even if we don't have the Ocelots and such, once we have the final biome, any further updates should be able to apply to an existing world, barring them creating some new biome exclusive to us. So after Jungles, I can safely invest Survival mode time and effort again. I know, I can always "start a new world". Believe me, Ive had a lot of them. I know thats a part of the game. But I'm ready to find one, perfect seed and settle down to really make use of it safe in the knowledge that it won't become obsolete.
Yay! We're getting spawn eggs next update. Still hope they add the end portal and Ender Dragon. I also hope they'll add the beacon (Probably won't happen).
Just to make it clear. . . TU10, if there is one, will be a bug fix, it wont add anything. So anyone saying that jungles could be added in the next update. . . . . very highly unlikely.'
As many people have said, I'm so fed up of not having a 'final' seed to play on. I want to knuckle down in survival and play on a world for months. Aint gonna happen now.
4J, this is bad. Lost a lot of respect. I thought you read these forums, and took on member comments etc? Who gives a damn about fighting a dragon? Not many. Who cares about creating an epic survival word and spending months on it? Many.
4J, can you gaurantee that if I start a new survival world, it wont get messed up when you add a new biome? If so, then I'll be happy. (Not a rhetorical question)

These are my exact thoughts on the matter as well. I was very disappointed to see that they pushed jungles back. I've always thought 4J never really had their priorities straight. And this further proves my point. They've slowly pushed me further and further away from the xbox version since I think TU5(creative mode update).
They add pearls, that didn't teleport. They add vines, that aren't climbable. They make melons and melon seeds craftable, yet pumpkin seeds were not. We get villagers, but no trading. We get this ridiculous option to make people "moderators" when all they can moderate is tnt and fire spread. Then we have all the bugs that we've dealt with, such as the wolf problem, and now the breeding problems. Worlds without all the generated features. Worlds that get completely f'd by biome changes. Worlds getting deleted by renaming them. Then there's all the features that people have wanted forever, such as upside down capabilities with half slabs/stairs and colored wood, yet they've completely ignored them. We have, what like, 6 skin packs or something that alot of people don't even look at, and still not a single texture that people have wanted for months. They say they want to head their own direction with the game, yet I don't see any progress being made towards that statement. The list goes on and on.
But over-all, the most hated thing about this game, is having to start a new world to get the changes you want. You would think 4J would put biome changes at the top of their list of priorities so that people could stop making new worlds, but go figure, it's not. Instead they want to add some pointless, boring dragon, that you can only beat once. I am happy that the xbox version exists, otherwise I would have never found Minecraft, but the update process they go through doesn't make very much sense to me.
Not supporting that you have to start new world. Just a pun dont hate on me. But if you start a survival world you can play on it for months. Cuz the reakin updates take forever by God!

Anybody disappointed should be disappointed in themselves for hyping up something that was never going to happen anyway.
