I never really understood why you couldn't condense restone into blocks either, however from the updates on PC the redstone block is actually a powered block, which makes it a lot more complicated that just another texture. Perhaps they'd planned this for a long time but put it on the backburner due to the complexity and needing to get other things done first.
Not exactly... Just a piece of the beacon... A component to make it. Although it is very uncertain we will get such an addition, as that was one thing that was added in 1.4 series of pc updates. Just like the whither.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

I never heard of the Nether star. Just seen pics of it here and there. Is it something to do with the end?

It has something to do with one of the new pc mobs, the Whither skeleton. You get a head from them that you can summon a whither with like how you make a snowman. It is a powerful 3 headed dragon type mob. The whither once killed drops a star. That star is used to usually make a beacon, which in turn is used to generate a pyramid of buffs in a select area once placed. Literally you would have to build the pyramid. Usually out of iron and gold blocks.
That basically sums it all up about the nether star.
Another note: this probably will not make it as it was a recent addition in the pc edition. We are not going that far. If and I do mean IF it is added it will be because of the talk that 4J and mojang have with them after the 1.2.3 update is out. I personally don't really care whether this comes about or not...

Before I handed the thread over to the moderators it was well managed. It has not been updated in a long time. It's a shame, really.
It's not clear if whoever is modding the 360 section actually play it or are generally interested in the 360 version.
I don't use twitter at all so not really suitable to manage this thread. My gripe is that mods keep locking focused discussions and directin them to this unfocused threads, where the conversations DO NOT continue.

Somewhat disappointing to see today (Feb 14) that jungles and ocelots will not be in TU9, but have been deferred to a later update.
Yeah kinda agree.
I myself don't really care much for the end. Hopefully though they will put in something to give me a reason to update, but so far all that has been said really does not interest me. Unless of course they put the upside down stuff in early, or even the colored wood... Beyond those there is no reason for me to update...:(
