Once I tried to set up levers on either side of a door, realized it wouldn't work so easily, and then tried to put in a button instead. No matter what I did, the door would always be open by default. This was the door from my living room to my mine. Even placing the door a few blocks away didn't work, somehow the whole area was screwed up. I ended up having to spruce up the tunnel and make the door further in.
How do we get animals in pens? I find it hard to push animals, they won't walk into the pen easily, they only walk inside things they aren't supposed to like my worksites.
I didn't see anything about animals being attracted to wheat so I guess hope for them to spawn in the pens? Please point out if they said this anywhere. I might be half blind to the obvious.

7-14 days. I don't see this update hitting the public until, at least, the 16th. I say the 16th, because of the "major updates on Tuesdays" speculation. It's said to be probably released on a Tuesday or Thursday. So, I'd say some day in the next week or two. Most likely two...

To be fair, we have gotten 2 of the 3 updates so far on Fridays.
Because the post-1.8 seeds are just bad. They messed up the generation so much. Pre-1.8 is much more interesting. That's the only thing I'm not looking forward to with this update
I was going to generate 10 or more seeds in 1.7 and another tutorial world before the update, just because.

there are 2 or 3 of the current maps i REALLY enjoy. i'll be making backups of them. a few of each. gonna fully explore one just to have the land and be able to use the new blocks. gonna explore NONE of the map, just to compare the new to old generation. and going to explore parts of the map to see what will happen with unexplored parts.
i should probably start doing that now, i geuss. it'll give me something to do while i wait. i haven't really played for weeks. =/
I hope in the future with updates there will not be as many problems with the release date... i don't mind if 4j is like a week behind on the update but they delayed the 1.8 for a month.

What exactly are you referring to? 1.8.2 was never delayed. There was never a release date announced for it. In fact, they still haven't announced a release date for it as they don't know when it will be released.

Why do you want to use old seeds?
Generated structures can be turned off.
I was going to generate 10 or more seeds in 1.7 and another tutorial world before the update, just because.
