We have a team of Artists (A lot more than 7) that deal with Worlds, promo art etc..
Aside from having to update art tools or adding new art tool functionality programming team is not affected in anyway.
Okay, I got those numbers from the Minecraft wiki and 4J's Wikipedia page so it sounds like both of those pages need to be updated. Also,thanks for expanding my knowledge base about the art team.
The initial conversion of the code from Java to C++ takes quite a bit of time.
After that we then have to confirm that the base game itself hasn't been broken by these changes before optimizing all the new features that have been brought across.
Once that's been done the test teams can start hammering the build while the programming team continues to fix bugs/reported bugs.

As for the update, the new tutorial and Fallout world again make me wonder how much time the artists put into those worlds since they are absolutely bonkers. Other than that, I've just been goofing around, trying to pretty much break everything so 4J can fix it, which I kind of did (see bug thread). I really can't say that I'll be using the Elytra much in my survival since I have so many means of transport already that a flight platform would be redundant; that may change when we can use fireworks instead of bow boosting.
Yeah, I found it out when I finally got the update and read the alternate way to get to End Cities. I had mistakenly assumed it would be like in the other versions. Searching the wiki for "End City Portal" yielded no results at the time of my posting.
Is the 360 just a multiplayer online platform now? Should we expect any further substantial game play updates or just updates for the multiplayer game? PE just got llamas and woodland mansions and illagers and lots of other great game play stuff. The last we've gotten was in November and while it was a huge update, we've seen tons of support for the multiplayer since and practically nothing for the main game.
I honestly gave up on it a while ago myself, and I was like, that guy when it came to it. I'm currently looking into converting my map series into PC saves. Not having access to monster spawners and barriers without needing 3rd-party tools is just stupid. That and everyone I used to play with is gone alongside this place being pretty much a no-go for finding new players.
I'm just too poor to afford a new system and have been enjoying Minecraft on this platform for a long time, not eager to start over on a new system. But I guess, times they be a changin'
