speaking of spawning has anyone noticed that it seems the spawn limit has changed? if there even is a spawn limit still, because of it, i was able to get all colored sheep on my super old map. but my villagers still can't breed. then at the same time i can resurrect the zombie villagers.
Have not messed with livestock yet in this version. But that is interesting to know.
To answer at least in partial, yes there are limits, but it is a matter to how high or low they are.
Look at signs, item frames, and chests. Then again I am unsure if limit on chests, and it there is; must be pretty high. Regardless there is limits on quite a few things within the game. Villagers probably kept the same limit as before, for all I know. Unsure what it was and is now. Have a habit of starting a new map each major update that is not a patch of some kind...

If all gone, then of course no breeding...O_o takes more than one to tango.
well at least you can convert still, so that is a plus, even if costly at times. Hmmm... very odd if trying to get new converted to breed with doors is not working like naturally spawned; that is something I will have to look into when I have time, or able to do that in survival. That might take a while. >< at least for me.

i think it's because the world was made when villages were first added, i think TU8 so it is a bit weird when it comes down to it, i think you might remember the world healer, though you were only on it like once.

Nope, I've got tons of villagers in my release world that are all born from converted zombies. If your villagers arent breeding then you either have not enough doors or invalid houses (doors need direct sunlight on the block in front of the door, so you cant build it underground unless you build a light chimney, nor underwater, nor in the nether).
By direct sunlight, do you mean that the block in front of a door needs to be open to the sky? Some of the buildings which are part of a natural village have a lodge-type building that has an overhanging roof. Does this roof negate the door?

no.
It is the ratio of blocks on either side of the door, including the block above door. As long as the sunlight is hitting a shorter ratio of blocks compared to the inside, then it will be considered a house. However if it is even number blocking sunlight, then that will negate it being a house. always has to be an odd number up to I believe 5 blocks to count as a house.
That is just a rough idea, and why the natural spawning of houses in the world actually count as houses.

You're correct. But to add to this for clarity sake, that means that you can have at most a 4 block overhang in front of your door as opposed to behind your door as the game will not be able to determine the difference between a 5 block exterior overhand and a 5+ block interior ceiling.
Is this why they do not put a door on the forge when they generate a village? Too many blocks overhanging?
That is likely one reason... but more importantly, if you placed a door in the entry way to the forge area for the blacksmith, then there would be fewer blocks blocking sunlight on the path inside the door (3 blocks away) than there would be outside the door (which is 5 blocks as it is).
Placing a door here might confuse villagers into thinking that the inside of the 'structure' was the outside when night falls and zombies start prowling.
I replace the blocks over the door in front of the blacksmith forge with glass then add a door. Can't have a forge without a door! (although it should probably be an iron door...)
- More Redstone fixes.
- Increased minecart limit.
- Stopped tamed horses despawning when they are in a fenced-off area.
- Crafting a map now produces an Empty Map.
- Fixed a crash with a Noteblock.
- Fixed an issue with village generation.
- Fixed an issue with Witch Huts allowing other mobs to spawn in them after a reload.
- Fixed an issue where Blaze Spawners and Chests don’t appear in the Nether after a Nether Reset.
- Fixed a crash with Minecarts travelling through Nether Portals.

This is just me buuuuut new content would be amazing, like say.... furniture, and a machine ghat allows you to create doors to your specifications as well as an iron gate and maybe water creatures like fish or sharks or even waves, that would be nice too instead of plain ole static water. But that's just my own thoughts.
Sweet! A literal iron fence gate would really be great though lol where can I see the planned update?
you can't 4J has said nothing to prove any of this yet. for all we know there could never be an update again.
