Going by descriptions, there are 29 quintillion (2.9*10^19) unique firework stars (plus 1 if you count the blank one in creative mode) and 19 quadragintillion (1.9*10^136) unique firework rockets (plus 3 if you count ones made with blank stars), but going by their visual effects, there are only 2.1 trillion (2.1*10^12) distinct firework stars and 39 sesvigintillion (3.9*10^82) distinct firework rockets.
Then why don't they just add the base firework recipe, plus the recipes that use the mob heads and dyes. Just leave out the extras. Seems ridiculous to me if their going to add every single solitary firework recipe.

39 sesvigintillion ? Now you're making up words ! That's ... Holy crap batman ...
I don't think they'll add ALL of them , will they ? How much memory does that take up anyways ?
im guessing not allot since its just a tiny rectangle exploding.

Care to explain? I fail to see the added value in the frustration and annoyance that would come with dragging and dropping items from your inventory into a crafting grid. Especially under laggy conditions (when your pointer allready slows down by a lot in the crafting menus).
I might be missing something why it would be nice to have. The above is a honest question and not trying to provoke or anything, just curious why you'd want it. Personally adding the xbox crafting interface over to the PC would make me play the PC version, I value the comfort and useability of the console crafting interface very highly. Where as removing the crafting interface and making it equal to the way it's done on the PC would most likely make me quit all together.
I can't really explain WHY I would prefer it. I just would. It just feels more fulfilling to actually craft my items instead of just pressing a button. Also, if there isn't something I know how to craft I get the fun in trying to figure it out. I feel it should at least be an option. Have it be a setting, and have auto crafting on by default. More options are never a bad thing.
Personally I think they should create a brand new villager, maybe call him 'adventurer' or something, whom will sell items from various biomes, one of which is clay, or hardened clay, sand, ect, so that we don't need to destroy our small maps to acquire such resources, nor do we risk running out of it.
If it is sand, clay, quartz, or cut stone specific... why not just call them a Mason?
Fireworks Star Fade Effect crafting interface mockup with description shown
That's a pretty slick setup... as a personal preference, I would like to see some headers added to each field, and maybe rearrange the options horizontally instead of vertically. Also, you can probably remove the mandatory ingredients from the options (initial gunpowder for the fireworks star, paper for the rocket)... or otherwise separate it out and have it grayed out as a requirement... although the fireworks star used in the secondary color table makes sense to have a way to remove it and add a different one from inventory in case a player changes their mind.
Headers might include:
Primary (Initial) Color(s)
Secondary (Fade to) Color(s)
Primary Effect
Secondary Effect(s)
Rocket Power
Fireworks Star from Inventory
And of course, the ability to remove selections made on the right back over to the left in case the player changes their mind about an option.
Add a similar text descriptor for the selections made for the initial Fireworks Star Creation and the Rocket Creation like you have illustrated for the Optional Fade to Color Output.
I keep getting on MC and starting new worlds but after only 15 minutes I quit and delete them. I'm sooo bored of MC right now and its worse when none of my friends get on to play...MC is so lonely and boring. I need a picture or something about the update to help me with my MCD (MineCraft Depression). Whyyyyyy, why isn't the update out yet...I may just die you know. I know it's gunna be while, just hope it won't take too long lol.
Anyone else having the same problems or are you stronger than me and have the strength to keep playing. I can't even look at the game right now.
I don't usually get MCD per say, as my mood just fluctuates. Either I don't feel like playing it and another game suits that mood, or I am playing it.
It is not that I am stronger willed or anything like that; it is more I am easily entertained, and have a habbit I kept from my childhood that I can entertain myself with ease. Well ok my overactive imagination helps with that I suppose.... I play various games, as I would have to in order to fill each mood with something to do or play. Some are not games but in another industry of entertainment that uses tv.
Other than my mood I guess that is something I don't ever feel. Oh yeah did I mention how patient I am...>< Quite so, almost too much at times. Something I learned, self taught, and developed over the years.
As for the new thing mentioned, yay, starwars. I can be an ewok.:) Only nice if I could have been a trade federation droid. You know, "roger roger" Well you would get what I mean by that if you have seen the movies. Anyway looks like a decent pack full of a lot of interesting skins. I don't own it yet, so I guess I'll have to put off being an ewok for now. But a nice pack to see.:)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
From Oct 14 Teaser: layered snow (see below)
Implies:
Crafting recipe for snow cover added. {Java v. 1.5 (13w05a)}
From Oct 23 Teaser: hay bail, daylight sensor, redstone block, hopper, diamond horse armor, horses, and the beacon.
Implies :
Nether Star {First appearance 1.4.2 (12w36a)} which is dropped by the Wither to construct the Beacon Block
Wither (to drop the Nether Star)
Wither Skeletons (to drop Wither skeleton skulls to make the Wither)
Wither Skulls (as drops from the Wither Skeletons)
Iron and Gold Horse Armor
The ability to equip Horse Armor to Horses.
From Oct 31 Teaser: Wither, Witches, and Bats confirmed
Implies :
Witch's hut
Wither Skeletons (to drop Wither skeleton skulls to make the Wither)
Wither Skulls (as drops from the Wither Skeletons)
From Nov 5 Teaser: Firework Rockets (with creeper face pattern), and Firework Star
Implies :
Other Firework Star Recipes
Other Firework Rocket Recipes
From Nov 14 Teaser: Donkey, Leads, Coal Blocks, Hay Bales (again), and Name Tags, the ability to equip chests to Donkeys.
Implies :
Name tags allow any mob to be named with the exclusion of the Ender Dragon, and villagers have to be named as babies or else during multi player...which in turn prevents despawning.
From Nov 21 Teaser: Beacon Block, Comparator, Droppers, Locked Repeater (functionality), Minecart with Hoppers, Minecart with TNT, Firework Stars, Gold and Iron Weighted Pressure Plate, Appears to be a Trapped Chest (likely but not confirmed)
Reappears from previous Teasers:
Name Tags
Fireworks
Hoppers
Redstone Blocks
Implies:
Trapped Chest (seems to be included but not totally confirmed as there can be seen a chest with a line of redstone dust directly connecting it to a block of nearby TNT)
From Nov 28 Teaser: Hopper Inventory/Interface, Horse Interface, Beacon Interface, Fireworks Crafting Interface, Wither Skeletons, Saddled Horse / Riding Horseback.
Image is very poor quality, but does show all 5 consoles in the Nether simultaneously, difficult to make out the rest but appears to revisit numerous items and also shows a Mounted Saddled Horse in the Nether while in (what appears to be) Survival Mode, directly implying the following Java v. 1.4.2 (12w34a) update: Mobs (and all other entities) can travel through portals.
Many items in inventories and hotbars are too indistinct to clearly discern, others have been previously confirmed. Several signs present, but similarly to indistinct to be able to clearly read.
Unconfirmed, but very highly likely:
Hardened Clay
Stained Clay
Trapped Chest (still not quite certain... but has been directly implied on 11/21/2014)
Mules
- Ability to equip chests to Mules
Unconfirmed but still possible:
Lighting Engine Optimization
Baby Zombies
Baby Zombie Pigmen.
Undead Horses
Skeleton Horses
Command Blocks (the Command Block is not likely in the next update, but it has not been confirmed or denied at this time).
Built in Easter Egg where mobs named "Dinnerbone" or "Grumm" were flipped upside down.
Possibility of being brought forward from later release (1.7.2 / 1.7.4 releases):
Stained Glass
Stained Window
Chicken Jockey (Zombie and Zombie Pigman)
Possibility of being brought forward from later release (1.8 release):
Villagers (and Baby Villagers) Change to Witches when struck by lightning.
Special Note: Witches may spawn in older world seeds, with swamp biomes, in the regions where witch huts 'would have' spawned if the world was regenerated anew with the same world seed. Original Java coding (according to Dinnerbone) when implemented seems to tie the witch to the region where the huts would have or did spawn (if later destroyed), rather than to the actual huts themselves... He was calling this unintentional glitch a 'feature' at the time.
Due to the way the code works, witches will likely spawn in older maps's swamps even without a hut there. It's a bug that I'm calling a feature for the next 30 seconds. You'll have all the fun of witches, with none of the hassle of having to raid their loot and stuff!
I've love stained glass, but I'd also kill to have the new flowers pulled forward. Man I want those.
I hate the flowers in the game atm, they're ugly to me. Too small and ugly. Can't create any nice scenery with them imo.
New flowers are unfortunately unlikely to be added until the consoles are at least brought up to the Java v. 1.7 (The Update that Changed The World) where the large amount of new biomes were added.
I keep getting on MC and starting new worlds but after only 15 minutes I quit and delete them. I'm sooo bored of MC right now and its worse when none of my friends get on to play...MC is so lonely and boring. well actually i just got rid of MCD by Starting a hardcore Survival world that is open to anyone who wants to play (and meets my usual xbox live requirements) while i fly around making sure everyone follows the rules. i think it's actually quite fun and it appears that allot of people are enjoying it more than I ever expected. the first day it started was yesterday (the 29th) and i open it up every wednesday. or if minecraft gets too boring because there's no one to watch or im too lazy to work on my pixel art im probably Curb stomping people in gears of war 3.

Whomever asked how much memory fireworks use, not much at all, if we take apart the PC firework code and examine it, we can see that for the most part its just a bunch of formulas, that are plugged into variables by the firework in question. Hence all the different components you can plug into them. They can be simple but pretty complex.
Once created they are nothing more then a block with some NBT data, that will be sent to the formulas when the time is right, other then the gui, theres little to no overhead for fireworks. (even when they go off, its not really overwhelming to the frame rate as MC does a pretty decent job at handling the particle effects (at least they got this part right in the rendering engine).
I've played extensively with them on the PC, and they can be fun, getting your fireworks display just right can be as challenging as some complex redstone machines. We really shouldn't be complaining that they are giving us the ability to create complex fireworks, options are always a good thing, and one can as always use them or not.
If it is sand, clay, quartz, or cut stone specific... why not just call them a Mason?
Well could have several different types of what they sell to make it a bit challenging in finding what you want, but in time, as as more biomes come into play they could sell packed ice, clay, sand, podzol, (the new dirt that stays dirt), saplings of different biomes), different seeds and flowers, in short just about anything that you could find in different biomes he could sell.
This has a double play of being of use to those whom are on older maps whom are looking to get certain features from newer updates such as the different blocks, flowers, trees, ect, but its just a thought, and I highly doubt 4J would even consider it, unless many others liked the idea.
GregNelson I thought that the lightning change to villagers was brought in the 1.7 version of the game or recent one. Regardless would be a feature I hope I don't ever encounter while I am trying to save or build up a village.
I really going to enjoy an actual use for gunpower on my part. I don't use TNT. I just hope that the TNT option in the menu will not stop the fireworks from exploding. As I prefer that option off.
Nice to see a comprehensive list of confirmed and indirect confirmations.:D

ah i dint think of that tamorr, i also hope the tnt explodes (off) does not affect fireworks. I dont play pc, do fireworks cause damage if they hit something then explode?

I hope we get quite a few unexpected things brought forward ... In fact , don't we already have a 1.7.2. feature ? : Baby Zombies ?
Ha! i wish. i would love to see little Midget zombies trying to kill villagers.

They do not, they just explode into colors.
Java Version 1.5 (The Redstone Update) also saw a lighting optimization:
Ahhh.... I read that wrong... yeah... checking sources shows that was a Java v. 1.8 (14w03a) update... I'll move that to the brought forward section.
