At least we know we're getting fireworks. That's a good thing along with horses ,and such. How much ya wanna bet they just wrapping up all the good things they've added to PC ,and adding it to the XBOX so that way when the time comes they close down the 360 SERVERS ,and won't have to worry.. Just a thought.. I noticed they're getting all the big main things everyone's been reqeusting ,and adding it in as soon as possible in before the shut down 360 servers...
Hush man That is what I like to call a one paragraph horror story! I sure hope that does not happen because this update has motivated me to get xbox live gold again ( I haven't had it in 5 months or so)
That moment when a PS picture appears in the 360 section....
I honestly don't want a 1.7 update unless packed ice can be made, all flowers can be bonemealed anywhere, and podzol and the two new saplings appear in the bonus chest.
Finding all of the biomes is a challenge enough as is. Gods help up if we need to cram another two to five more in to get everything.

That is not even mentioning the generation that changes with it. Well not directly. I just hope they don't switch to that sort of genration since the biomes are more spread out in a way. Things would get monotonous. Now if they compacted it somehow that would be fine, as I am sure even with the compacting bit not all biomes would be on the map.
Also stained clay, even if that is part of the 1.6, I think; that will still be a bit of a limited resource. What I do hope is that some of the mechanics do show up, like fishing.
I don't really want the enchanting bit, due to having to enchant something in order to change the enchantment that will most likely show up. That may give books a bit more nudge, but still a bit perplexing. I do like the idea for costs in enchantment if the cost is a renewable resource that is in abundance to a degree. Think I prefer the xp bit over that though, seems more balanced, even if you have to constantly enchant to get what you want. That part would not change no matter what due to that nudge.
Things like miscellaneous crafting recipes I would like to see are those of cracked, mossy, chiseled stuff. As well what you have mentioned, being able to craft some of the new blocks as well a few, like saplings for new trees being in the bonus chest.
Armor stands, banners would be nice too... among other things, as there is a lot even in the most recent version...
Granted if they do decide to add anything it will probably be a while yet, since they would have to get the rest of 1.6 equivalent done. Hopefully we would in the very least see something pulled forward that they can, but that maybe hoping/asking for too much, as that is quite a bit already. I will mainly be glad for when they are done with the current update they are working on. Hopefully things go well enough to where the new additions won't bog down the box. Sure they will adjust this and that, at least I would think they would.
Anyway it is just nice to see a whole lot already coming to the system. Glad for that.

Finally, coal blocks! I have almost entire large chest worth of coal blocks buried above and below my storage room, and now I can put all of that forsaken coal into one chest.
I'm so excited about everything. Mainly, horses, nametags, leads and daylight sensor. If we get stained clay I'm also looking forward to that the most as well because I can finally make houses of all sorts of colors, different colored walls for a house and more. I'm sick of wood. Horses! Finally a mob with different stats and colors to have fun with as pets and etc. Wild west world here I come. And no more disappearing animals, i'll just name a wild wolf and lead it home and put it inside to wander around. I hate that dogs and cats just sit or follow you. I want a cat and dog to roam the house lol. Finally I can just grab animals instead of pushing them or having to get food too and suddenly they don't want it anymore so I have to wait around. Idk what the daylight sensor does though honestly...im terrible with redstone and im sure it's used with redstone. I think I've seen it been used so that lights turn on at night and then off when it's morning? That's what I would love to have for sure cause im too lazy to turn them off or on accordingly to time.
I'm really interested in playing with the Redstone update...that just opens up a whole new world of possibilities... redstone block, hoppers, comparators, droppers, daylight sensors, trapped chests, weighted pressure plates... do we even have redstone repeater locks (that feature was added to repeaters in Java 1.4.2)? I don't think that feature has been implemented as yet...although, I haven't tried it out though... to be honest.
In addition to stained clay, I'm still hoping that they will reach forward up to Java 1.7.2 to pull stained glass and stained windows to this update as well and it would be really nice to see Command Blocks (also from Java 1.4.2) incorporated as well as a creative mode option... but I'm not holding my breath.
I'm also hoping they fix the redstone lock issue that still sometimes occurs whe crossing between chunks.
Finally, coal blocks! I have almost entire large chest worth of coal blocks buried above and below my storage room, and now I can put all of that forsaken coal into one chest.
hahah i know you you feel rakes ive had the same problem for almost 2 years now in one world.

I seriously doubt they'll give us command blocks, they allready refused to give us the book and quill... Command block needs way more input then books. I really miss not having the books btw so much fun stuff you can do with it.
Shhhh... don't shatter my fantasies!!!!
Actually, I believe that the book and quill was rejected more due to the text content filtering that MS imposes on player made scripts and the impact that would have on the game.
I'm not saying that it is likely that they will implement it... in fact my hopes aren't very high at all... but they could implement it if they built a GUI interface for setting up some basic (limited) commands as selection settings.
The only text inputs that would be really needed, would be for fixed and relative X, Y, Z coordinates, and possibly for when referencing a named item or MOB. All other commands could be built in as selection items in drop down menus in the Command Block GUI interface to make it console friendly (like the crafting interface was re-worked for consoles).
However, building that GUI and implementing it might be a bit much to ask for the next update, and might never come about at all as it could open up a whole new can of worms that MS might object to on the console platform.
So you have 27 large chests completely filled with coal, or did you misunderstand me when I stated that I have nearly 54 stacks worth of future coal blocks?
I currently have 31,106 coal (slightly under 9 large chests) waiting to be converted into blocks, and I find proofless claims of much more unlikely to be true.

@PoeticWhisper Omg you have the plushies I don't have for MC. Where did you get them!?!
And, can someone name all of the upcoming updates in the Version Update for us?
probably not... but here goes:
From Oct 14 Teaser: layered snow (see below)
Implies:
Crafting recipe for snow cover added. {Java v. 1.5 (13w05a)}
From Oct 23 Teaser: hay bail, daylight sensor, redstone block, hopper, diamond horse armor, horses, and the beacon.
Implies :
Nether Star {First appearance 1.4.2 (12w36a)} which is dropped by the Wither to construct the Beacon Block
Wither (to drop the Nether Star)
Wither Skeletons (to drop Wither skeleton skulls to make the Wither)
Wither Skulls (as drops from the Wither Skeletons)
Iron and Gold Horse Armor
The ability to equip Horse Armor to Horses.
From Oct 31 Teaser: Wither, Witches, and Bats confirmed
Implies :
Witch's hut
Wither Skeletons (to drop Wither skeleton skulls to make the Wither)
Wither Skulls (as drops from the Wither Skeletons)
From Nov 5 Teaser: Firework Rockets (with creeper face pattern), and Firework Star
Implies :
Other Firework Star Recipes
Other Firework Rocket Recipes
From Nov 14 Teaser: Donkey, Leads, Coal Blocks, Hay Bales (again), and Name Tags, the ability to equip chests to Donkeys.
Implies :
Name tags allow any mob to be named with the exclusion of the Ender Dragon, and villagers have to be named as babies or else during multi player...which in turn prevents despawning.
Unconfirmed, but highly likely:
Hardened Clay
Stained Clay
Locked Chest
Comparator
Repeater Update (Repeater Lock Feature)
Dropper
Weighted Pressure Plates (Iron and Gold)
Mules
Ability to equip chests to Mules
Unconfirmed but still possible:
Lighting Engine Optimization
Baby Zombies
Baby Zombie Pigmen.
Undead Horses
Skeleton Horses
Villagers Change to Witches when struck by lightning.
Command Blocks (the Command Block is not likely in the next update, but it has not been confirmed or denied at this time).
Built in Easter Egg where mobs named "Dinnerbone" or "Grumm" were flipped upside down.
Possibility of being brought forward from later release (1.7.2 release):
Nice summary, you missed coal blocks though. And please no more unattended griefing by the game, the villagers change to witches when struck by lightning is one change we can do very much without. Villagers allready diappear without any concrete reason we don't need another possible reason they can go poof. If anything we need options to turn unattended griefing off.
IMHO hopper and redstone block implies; dropper, comparator and repeater locks.
Wouldn't it be awesome if they decided to pull 1.7.10 forward as a surprise at the same time... /dreaming mode off
Quite a bit of dreaming there, but most unlikely. I can probably see some features being pulled forward, however not the update itself. Mainly due to the terrain changes that occur. Although I would be mixed feelings on that, as it is all about how they go about doing so when the time comes, if they decide to.
As is though what they are adding in, or going to add in next is quite a long list of thing. Would have been nice if they included the colored wood for fences and the like, but that for me would be dreaming or hoping, if not a little of both. Patiently awaiting to see all that will be in beyond the obvious, if there is anything. I will have a hey day almost literally with some of the features and automate certain things further.
