if anything i am hoping that the minecraft in game music will be the music from the original Halo title screen. that was some good music
(i say the original because i was never a halo fan i played 2 and 3 and that was it. but saw my cousin play 1. but i have no clue if they changed the music for the newer halo's)

agreed - we already have the MEmup. How different can this one be? They should have made the candy tex a MUP, at least thatwoudl have been out-of-the-box thinking.
Mas Effect and Halo look nothing alike though.
A Halo mash up will likely have a lot of textures trying to appear shiny (Forerunner) and a lot of UNSC or Covenant based things. Meaning a lot of greens or a lot of purple/pink/dark colors. Halo is one of the biggest video game franchises in the world so I'm sure the Halo mash-up pack will be one of their best selling ones.

thats really what im worried about. with all these bases and colors playing on survival with the map iron ore will be part of the covenent wall so just like a purple block in a cave of what i assume to still be stone. my point is the MUP may look horrid in survival just like the Mass Effect MUP. creative is fun to do but if the MUP is really just for creative then i dont think its gonna be worth the money because i will probably just make like 1 map with it and thats it. im really hoping that however they make it, that it can actually work with survival, it doesnt look dull, and it actually looks good unlike ME's 16x16 or Skyrims 32x32
Celebrating Minecraft XBLA's second birthday, the original free birthday skin pack will be available for download tomorrow (meaning May 9th). A new free 2nd birthday skin pack will also be available tomorrow. Not sure how long that runs to, so don't delay!
Existing skin and texture packs have had their prices cut in half until May 11th.
wonderful thanks for the heads up or i probably wouldnt have got on minecraft today

Anyone seen the text on the home screen of MC XBL 360, it says "Afraid of the big, black bat" or something like that. Is that one new? If so, could that be a hint to bats coming in a update with witches and etc. Cause I saw a witch skin in the new B-day pack too.

Could be a hint at that heroes skin pack that you can get now... As that is a reference to batman I believe..O_o

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
The "pretty scary" update should be next. It has witches an bats. I personally wish they would do something other than superheroes. It's just one skin pack after another that I would ignore if I still had a 360.Will they port existing skin, texture, and mash-up packs to next gen? It shouldn't be that hard.
the "big black bat" message has been around for a while and it couldn't reference the superhero pack out now as those are Marvel characters and Batman is DC.
Thanks to the sale, I picked up the Candy, Fantasy and City texture packs. They are my first foray into texture packs, I hope they are cool, but for $0.50 they would have to really suck to be a let down.

haha right. i remember i was debating on whether to get the fantasy but there was a sale and it was only .50C so i had gotten it without hesitation. ever since then its really been the only one i use.

They will likely release all of the same DLC for the PS4 and Xbox One versions whenever they come out. You'll have to buy it all again most likely. Which I'm ok with.
That's exciting news for anyone who fancies exploring! Even if world sizes are still finite, 4J promises that they'll be "a lot bigger."
I saw that. The initial trailer for the Xbox One Edition already said bigger worlds so I assumed it meant significantly larger but I guess it's nice to see them mention it directly for once.
I'm not really bothered by not having the seemingly infinite worlds of the PC. I understand that their are limits on the console since you have a finite amount of memory to work with. Especially since all games need installs now, patches are getting bigger, and DLC is getting bigger. It makes sense. All I'm hoping for is a minimum of like 5000 x 5000 blocks. I'd be happy and satisfied. Especially since it'd probably only be me and one friend playing on a world.
This world I found on PlanetMinecraft is 5000 x 5000 blocks and is only 137MB. That doesn't seem unreasonable for something as powerful as the Xbox One or PS4. granted from the looks of the world I found it's lacking trees, water, and some other things as it's a pre-built world for purposes of like mini-games and things. Still though, I don't see why we can't have that big of a world at the very least.
I'll just be happy when the game is finally coming out and all the info about it comes to light. It just sucks that we're probably going to have to wait until E3 to get a release date.
More than 5x the size of 360 worlds sounds great to me. I would understand needing to buy everything again, but it would be nice to get a discount if you buy them from an account that owns the previous versions.

This is Microsoft we're talking about, I doubt we'll see any kind of discounts thrown our way from purchasing the 360 edition, just sayin'.

No one ever actually thought that saves would transfer, but Microsoft actually allowed it and helped 4J do it.
I wouldn't doubt that they'd offer a discount or something if you already bought Minecraft and the DLC on the 360 (provided you're still using your same account).
It would be nice if 4J could convince Microsoft to give discounts to 360 version owners as a thank you for making console Minecraft as big as it is. That is, if Microsoft isn't already planning on it.

To me it s all the same... DC & marvel are heroes & villains on the most basic level... I've actually not seen that quote before.
As to the xbox one news or Bigger worlds thing...I can't really say I am excited for it since I know I will not have that console for a long time... After all it is a pricey one; both the next generations are pricey.
It is a nice to hear another confirmation of bigger worlds on the next gen though. I haven't fleshed out the small one we have now; that and I usually take my time doing things. The xbox 360 world was never truly too small for me, but I don't mind it being a bit bigger; even if that means on the next gen.
I have the PC edition if I want near infinite, even if it is a bit slow, but manageable fps...
Well it is always good work from 4J I hear, and that is what I like.:D

now it would just be nice if they would answer if the bigger worlds and the world saves will benefit from each other with certainty. If i load my 360 save on xbone will it render new terrain and biomes (which i dont currently have, world predates creative mode) around the save inserted into the larger world. Or if they will suck and just let you move your file to xbone and world size for old saves remains the same. Which i hope is not the case for that would be near worthless.

im not sure how long its been since you looked at the minecraft forums bowwow but we talked about that a long while back.

Oooh, Batman didn't even cross my mind! Haha, anyways could be Batman or just a bat. Or both....
Most likely Batman as he is big and bats are tiny.
