I'm nearly 100% sure that at the very least, the Xbox One version is ready to go but it being held back for E3. Which sucks because I'm kind of out of games to play right now, not near E3. By that time Minecraft will have to fight with Watch_Dogs, among other things, to get my attention.

Whatever the reason, it's still their business decision to make, good or bad because only the company knows the whole story (and even then they might not) and it's the company personnel are answerable to the shareholders first and foremost for what happens as a result of their announcements. It could be a multitude of issues - e.g. incomplete legal agreements, promised commitments to E3 that can't be broken now... right down to family matters of key personnel. Stuff happens. While I'm all for keeping the consumer informed, there just seems to be too great a tendency around here for people expecting that they, the consumer, should be running every detail of 4J's business. I think we would all get further, if people just let 4J do their job.
what ever they said they did its already done. all we can do is sit and wait. whether we like it or not thats all we can do.

All I know is that a lot of people are feeling alienated by the lack of communication, including me. I'm not asking for them to tell me everything, just something. I can sort of understand holding the release until E3 even though it's ready to be released now, but there are so many people abandoning the idea of next-gen Minecraft as it is. Holding it any longer won't help them, it will do the opposite.
Great news! By way of the new head of Xbox Phil Spencer's twitter account, Minecraft Xbox 360 saves will indeed transfer to Xbox One and he promises more news to come soon! That is super awesome in my opinion. MCXBO cannot come soon enough!
Patience everyone, patience. 4J is working on it as we have already seen screen shots from both Xbox One and PS4 editions before and after the release of TU14, remember? They need to make absolutely sure of what they can do before they make any sort of announcement. They've already tweeted about being premature with announcements in the past. All that does is set an imaginary bar for them to most likely miss and then everyone will hate them for it. But then if they aren't specific everyone hates them anyway. Catch 22 anyone? Let's give them a break and let them continue to provide us with a console iteration of the most amazing game in existence!
Lets be honest here, if the X1 edition isn't virtually feature complete at this point, then we're gonna be waiting much longer than E3 for a release. They posted images of a working version back in January and most sites had the release pegged for March since it was stated that MC was a launch window game.
I'm a programmer myself so I understand that delays happen, but completely going silent never makes any of my clients very happy. We're not asking for a concrete release date or major feature announcements, I'd just like to know what's going on. If they are indeed holding back the release for E3 (which will frustrate a lot of gamers), at least throw us some teeny tiny updates in the meantime (which will make a lot of gamers happier).
The lack of fan interaction on their part sort of feels like a slap in the face. Give people a reason to stay interested in a game that they were expecting in March. That will become even more important as we move into May and potentially June. Hey, at least they've found plenty of time and resources to release texture packs!
I'll still buy the game regardless, but they could do themselves a favor by being a tad more transparent.

Thanks for the update, that is indeed good news. Now if they'll just post something like that every week or two, being patient for the release will be so much easier.

I'm totally fine with 4J not coming out every single day and saying what they're doing. However, they were very open about the Xbox 360 Edition when it first released and have been since.
In the nearly year that it's been since the Xbox One Edition was announced we've gotten a handful of pictures and maybe one or two tweets saying "we're working on it". That's about it. I don't see why they can't come out once a month or so giving updates or something. their lack of communication just makes me assume someone, most likely Microsoft, is clapping their lips shut and not letting them talk about it.
"But unlike on 360 where they had never been on console before and the developer relationship, I’ll say, was very tight from the beginning, this is something that’s really in their hands now," Spencer continued. "They’re a full-fledged developer in every sense. They control the [release] date of that, but I’ll tell people that we’re getting really close. I talked with Notch [aka Mojang founder Markus Persson] last night, and they’re really excited about the quality."

I've been googling for news on X1 Edition for months now and I saw that news in an article this morning. I'm hesitant to be moved by that news because being able to transfer a world save to X1 is meaningless if it doesn't benefit from the increased world size.
I also suspect that that news was released to tell us to prepare for a lengthy release... basically saying that they can release it at any time now that we can play the 360 version until X1 is released.
4J said the 360 version will be updated alongside the One version.
For only so long. The Xbox 360 will become antiquated before long. Just like the original Xbox only stuck around so long after the 360 came out. They aren't going to keep updating the 360 version when it is no longer a supported console.

That's another thing, there is no Xbox One section! Even more, they keep making new skin and texture packs for the 360 version but still haven't even told us anything about the Xbox One version!

Also a possibility...
No, it's not a possibility! Microsoft has no control over the release date! How many times do I have to say it?!
