MSoft's policy is that new achievements can only be added via "paid-for" DLC (otherwise known as "Add-ons"). When Minecraft released on the 360 4J needed to fill the achievement quota with whatever features were currently at hand. That means the list of achievements / trophies that Ryker61 mentioned can easily be included in the other console versions, but will require a monetary transaction to get for the 360, regardless of the fact that we now have the features to support them.
It may be possible for 4J to tack them onto a skinpack or texture pack, but I wouldn't necessarily hold my breath on that.
Cautiously optomistic about the City texture pack. It looks cool, but if the blocks between the mobs and the building are smooth stone, I'll have to pass. I can't stand when the "nature" blocks get a border that makes them look like a grid in the wild and underground. The plastic one was so bad about that it gave me an actual headache.

im hoping the city tp is good too. not even 5 minutes of hearing about it and i already got a good parkour map planned out. though the plastic pack i use because it brings a bright feel to minecraft again. to me at least minecraft starts becoming dull and dreary so i use the plastic to brighten it up.EDIT- oh i almost forgot hey mustache guy for the xbox one if i were to get minecraft would i have to re-buy it and would i still have all my worlds?

You will most likely have to rebuy it on the xbox one, the same goes for ps3 owners -> going to ps4. There are rummors that worlds will be able to be converted to xbox one which will increase in size once changed over to xbox one using the cloud. 4J has only stated that they are looking in on a way to do it, and that they are making no promises.

Since the XBLA accounts can be related through MS, and I'm assuming that the same can be said for the PS accounts through Sony... it might be possible that those options will at some point be transferable between old gen and next gen consoles (but only XBox360 to XBox1, -OR- PS3 to PS Vita or PS4). However, I agree with Cire360 in that it isn't likely, and especially not very likely in the too near future. 4J is working very hard in getting the game ready for deployment to all consoles, and they would have to divert some of their attention to make content transferable between accounts. I think they would want to get the core game out on multiple consoles first and then worry about the logistics of transferring rights to previously purchased content between platforms (including Game Files/Maps, Texture Packs, Mashup Packs, Skins, etc.).
They might just decide that it is more trouble than it is worth to do so, in the long run, we have no guarantees that they will do this, but 4J did say that they are looking into the possibility of transferring game files to next gen consoles, and they might even consider extending this to previously purchased DLC like TP's, MP's, and SP's. But this will not likely be possible at all going cross Manufacturer Platform (not XBox platform to PS platform or vica versa) due to competitive markets between Sony and Microsoft.

Like everyone else has said, you're likely going to have to buy it again. The Xbox 360 Edition has sold more than 10 million copies and I really don't see Microsoft or even Mojang giving away 10 million free copies of a game on a new system. Especially when the Xbox One version is going to be just different enough to warrant another $20 of spending since ti will have larger worlds and improved multiplayer.

I have no problem rebuying the game. I would fully expect that this would be the case. A different system means rebuying games. If we were able to transfer our existing worlds, that would be great!. I wouldn't expect that, but if it could be done I would be more inclined to consider an x1.

Do my eyes deceive me or am I seeing "It's finished!" on the start-up screen? I took a picture to prove it but my stupid phone won't send it. Guess you'll have to start it up and see for yourself.

That is just random splash text that displays on the title screen.
There are hundreds of different words and phrases that display at random.

That splash text has been displayed already for several updates. I think Notch added it to the PC version way back when it first left the Beta phase. It has no bearing on whether or not the Xbox will get more updates, so you can relax, OK?

Just finished testing it out on the trial version. I like it. Nice and clean looking. Love the stone - great for building sky-scrapers. I'm not digging how purple the obsidian is (since my lighthouse is now really purple and white - I would have preferred if they went towards making it more a black block)... but that's the only block I've encountered so far that I don't like. Will definitely be buying it.

I relaxed after mustache_guy said it was just a random thing. It's just that I didn't recall ever seeing that one on the screen before and I didn't know that those messages would never mean anything and didn't know the history behind them. Also I never said anything about whether or not Xbox will get more updates, of course it will! I was referring to TU 14. Thanks for the info though, interesting, so at one time it did mean something and now it doesn't.
