I think because people want to be cautious about reading into every detail too much. It's already a huge update.
I'm in the camp that that thinks the Wither is a good possibility. The painting was added in the same PC update as the wither. Another thing to note that while 4J has comfirmed that TU14 is going to be based on PC 1.3.1, a good deal of the additional confirmed features are from PC 1.4.2.. I find this interesting. Perhaps, 4J intends to combine as much they can and leap forward a bit? Who knows..
I do think it's reasonable to say that 4J wants this update to make a splash. Considering that console minecraft is about to be ported to 2 additional consoles it's an intelligent move business-wise.
Whatever the case, 4J is going to be cautious about confirming anything up until the last minute. Issues can pop up. We'll know when the changelog is released.
I a bit skeptical because I remember when the first skinpack was being released. 4J had released pictures and in one of the pictures is what looked like an abandoned mineshaft.

Between receiving the information, and until TU5 was released, updates TU3 and TU4 were released.
At that time, 4J would give little hints, but never really showed pictures. TU4 was a Bugfix. We didn't have the Changelog early either, so all we had were the tweets to go on. Not all information was updated into the main post either (you can go back and see how many tweets were posted in this thread between the release on 05/09/12 until the TU13 update on 07/13/12).
There appear to be carpet tiles in the first and second image, and it appears that they are also displaying the sideways (jungle wood?) logs, mossy stone bricks, quartz slabs and quartz blocks (in addition to stairs).... and the Pig Plushies... of course.

The game is going to be the same across all the platforms Title Update wise. The question that the one user asked clarifies that the 360 and One will both have the same features in the picture. From that, we also know that the PS3 and PS4 will have these features as well.

Well if Minecraft :X1E has a release date of March, then this title update most likely has a month before being submitted for cert testing... that's if this version of Minecraft is what is to be released on X1.
People just be patient and occupy yourselves with task that will take up your time in a blink of an eye, and before you know it, the update will be released........patience is the key!

I can't blame people for getting excited for this update, this update contains quartz blocks, and cobblestone walls, and sideways logs which are key blocks to building epic builds.
Now if we could just get some more texture packs and something not kiddish like the upcoming candy themed one and more doku related I'd be super satisfied for awhile.
Very true and I'm extremley excited for any update, may it be a TU update or a bugfix, it just add so much more perspective to the game which keeps the game interesting.......all I'm saying tho is to pay attention but be occupied with something else to make time fly by.

I will be occupying my time with Thief and Titanfall on the X1. I have to wait for the actual game again, not just an update because I no longer own a 360.
Well here let's try this, everybody that reads this comment, why don't you set a goal for yourself to occupy the time your waiting for the update to come out. For example, work on a project that's due for highschool or if you're in college, study, study, study. If don't go to college or highschool and are currently working, occupy your time with your hobbies that you know will take up your time quite a bit. Post here to see what other peoples ideas are and I think the time will fly by very quickly.... I for one will work out more in weeks to come and get all my projects done ahead of time

Emeralds have been confirmed which would lead one to assume that trading will be there but no actual screenshots of the trading GUI. Maybe they're waiting to show something that shows trading until they are happy with it.

Whatever features the update gives, it WILL add new possibilities to console users... If the features content is such an issue, maybe the pc version and all it's mods is the best to satiate your eagerness
For me, my concerns are on the release date, wich will mean a new tutorial world to explore the new features with... Anyone knows a date more specific than "sometime in march"?
Congrats to xbox users, Kind of a bummer the ps3 version is mostly an afterthought.

Another new texture pack has pretty much been confirmed which 4J has dubbed 'The city texture pack', I guess its better then that candy one they got planned, lol.
