I hope this is what we are getting, I went onto the MC Wiki and went onto the Xbox upcoming features and this is what it showed for TU14. Is this what we can expect to get? I can't wait!
That is all stuff that has been inferred from the screenshots that 4J has shown. Some are confirmed from within the actual screenshot while others are very likely.
Theres alot of other features that are worth noting thats in the 1.3.1 update as well. Here are a few that I felt that are worth noting.
a) First and foremost was that 1.3.1 for those who have it on the PC, really improved how the game ran, it decreased the amount of world updates, cut down on the amount of packets sent between client and server, which really helped reduce lag in many areas of the game. Thus this should help cut down the lag in MC somewhat.
Next thing worth mentioning since we just got these last update is that mobs will now be able to spawn on upside down stairs and slabs, which may cause some players a headache or two but, it also means that we can now use shifting floors to let items drop through from our traps which is a really good thing.
c) Ever been drowning an you just can't get to the surface because the knockback prevents you from making any progress upwards? Well that knockback gets removed in this update as well.
d) Enderchests, its funny that no one mentions this as a big part of the update, but these things are so useful and worth mentioning.
e) When in a minecart, pushing forward should now slowly move you along the track, very useful for when that powered rail is just a mere step or two away.
f) We should be able to fall 4 blocks now without taking damage.
g) Furnaces are now supposed to give us our bucket back when we use lava.
h) ICE BABY we can now harvest ICE using a silk touch pick axe!
i) Zombie pigmen will randomly leak into the overworld through your neither portal now.
j) Dispensers can now place boats and minecarts providing there is water or tracks near it.
k) Leavers can now be placed under blocks.
l) Upside down stairs and slabs placement is greatly improved and will now place upside down if pointing at the top half of a block or normal if pointing at the bottom half of a block.
m) Wooden pressure plates can be activated by arrows now.
n) Boats are mucho improved and won't break so easily.
o) My favorite of all, upside down half slab redstone!
Theres more but i'm just too lazy to go reread the version history. You know this got me thinking, that pretty soon if not now, we are gona need some type of 'shift' mechanic added to our version. Curious how they will do this, maybe while in sneak mode? Any guesses?

never heard of this and I can't find anything that stands out on the wiki. Of what do you speak?

On the PC when you hold down shift (enter sneak mode), it allows you to place an item against another item that has a gui, or has some type of action that normally triggers with a normal click. Take for example repeaters when we click on them it adds another tick to the repeater, so instead of changing the amount of ticks on the repeater a shift click simply places a block next to the repeater. Very useful later on with hoppers. I've found myself several times now already wishing we had this.

They're likely just going to make it where as long as you're in sneak mode by clicking in the stick, it'll perform that function.

I did see some of that in the screen-shot but others I didn't so yeah, I'm hoping and wondering if those I didn't see are being added.
I love updates that give new gameplay, so TU14 is going to come slow for me, TU12 seemed to last forever.

Don't remember what Y was used for outside of the inventory menus.... but could be that being used as a shift click. I know on the PC edition when I use my controller That is what I assign that button...

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Is that carpets!?!? And snow layers? What's up with the glass / white block in the top pic? Glass half slabs? New artwork - including a pic of the wither.....
Second and third inventory slot in the second pic - Signs and ?
The items on the hotbar in the first image are: Pumpkin pie, carrot, and potato.
For the second image, carrot, painting, sign, anvil, cobble wall, ender chest, emerald block.
Looks like texture packs for the PS editions in the second image.
A follow-up tweet also confirms that the first image is a PS4 edition development image.
Here's some release date speculation: as the Xbox ONE is apparently set for release in March 2014 (source) and they're developing TU14 on the ONE, it might be safe to say that we can expect TU14 no later than march? This is assuming that 1) The release date on IGN is accurate, and 2) TU14 is the version that the ONE edition will launch with.
The wither construction painting fascinates me. I wonder if they're giving us hints about the coming of a certain boss.

we have a shift button. ever heard of the right analog stick. as shift makes you crouch in the pc so our crouch button will work as the same (most likely)

I don't think those are snow layers, I'm almost certain those are quartz stairs.
I agree with you that the white stairs in the foreground are surely quartz, but what's going on with the glass in the background? Look at the layer of glass below the wither painting and the panes to the upper left. Maybe it is just perspective messing with me, but I can't tell if the lighter color is outside or inside the room. Actually - looking at it, they probably built it at cloud level just to mess with us.
I'm going to say it.. Everything about these screen shots is very deliberate.. Including the painting in the background. I think it's reasonable to say it's a preview of the next boss in TU14

If we had seen beacons we'd know for sure, but I think they just brought the painting forward. I can't see beacons making a show in this TU, and really without beacons theres no real point to the wither other then some automatic farms. Either way there is soooo much more then I thought we'd see in this coming update. I'am very pleased. Just can't wait, and now the 64 million questions of 'when' will start flooding 4J, lol, poor buggers.
There appear to be carpet tiles in the first and second image, and it appears that they are also displaying the sideways (jungle wood?) logs, mossy stone bricks, quartz slabs and quartz blocks (in addition to stairs).... and the Pig Plushies... of course.
It's a picture within a picture.. I'm just saying that everything about these plushie pics is very planned. Even the angle showing exactly what's in the hotbar. It would have to occur to someone at 4J that including a picture like that would spark interest and begin rumors of the Wither. Given that they are working on porting to 3 new consoles, I think they want to make a splash. With or without the wither they're doing a good job of generating interest in TU14.
