i actually love the wool. and the fact they deviate from the basic color scheme.. i mean how many versions of red and green wool do you really need, i think its better to alter it giving us more creative blocks. that arched windo one your talking about is my least favorite. its far to cartoony and doesnt match well with anything, that and spruce are my least favorite blocks, the spruce is ok still, just not as good as it once was.
i doubt we will see a futuristic pack very soon, they got a lot of flack for the ME mashup. i personally liked it.
then again halo was high on the list of requested ME/TP's so who knows.
fallout would be awesome, the golems could be the large mutants. i cant remember their name at the moment.
Oh I like the wool, it is just that block and a couple others I don't like that do the same orientation behavior as that window one that makes it really only useful for walls. It is mainly the standard rail that keeps me from buying it right at this moment. I will get the pack eventually when I have more funds, but for now I guess I could buy the natural one for now and work with that despite the sandstone mirage being almost non-existent. As for the colored part of your comment, I actually like it done that way too; mainly because you have gradients to work with when designing buildings/structures.
Now only if we had the colored clay that the pc has. That would be nice, although a resource that is not as renewable as some. I actually wouldn't mind seeing a Ragnarok Online mash-up or even a texture pack of that one. It has a nice cutesy style to it as well being in that kind of era. Either way I like most of what they came out with.
Just finally looked through the battle & beasts 2 pack, and actually like that one better than the first one.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
anyone get the feeling that now because 4j are putting mincraft on playstation the updates for the xbox 360 will take longer to come out?
I had originally thought that if they were going to take on ps3 as well that they would hire more people since they are expanding their market, but it seems like they are just focusing on the other releases instead so xbox updates will be a longer time coming.

Don't forget its not just playstation its also the xbox one they are working on as well. So depending if they did hire more people or not is what will determine how quickly anything gets done.
at this rate i would say we will get updates every 6 months

So yes, it appears they've decided to just let things stay broken over longer periods of time.
Perhaps it is that programming onto the PS3 is not going as smoothly as they originally expected? You know... stuff happens... the best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray, etc.....

It's probably more likely the red tape they have to go through for testing and to get approval. Remember that each system has to review and approve the content before 4J can publish, and if any of them come back with a concern, that concern needs to be addressed before they can resubmit to have it reviewed again. Politics is a pain... but 4J stated that they are trying to release content updates as close to simultaneously as possible across platforms, and getting everyone to give a thumbs up at the same time can be much more tricky that just trying to appease only one entity.

Also possible. I was sort of including it in the "stuff happens" part of my comment (i.e. they might figure that they have everything good to go and then Sony or Microsoft comes back with a concern). We have sort of gotten used to the certification procedure with Microsoft; but Sony's may be a different beast entirely.
My objection is really that people here seem to be just fishing to just put the blame on 4J for not staffing up to meet the demand. To me, this seems an unfair assumption. When the announcement was made, it did come to light that 4J were then hiring additional staff and, really, we don't know how many more people they brought on board. They may have more than enough people working on this; but "stuff happens."
my cousin loves marvel. if i were to buy this i think i may finally get him to play minecraft lol.

"Secret Skin pack"; may be.. okay, but really we have enough skins for now.. would prefer some bugs fixed, or new things released. Im quickly becoming more and more bored with the game with these long waits for updates. It seems the PC version updates itself far more often than the XBLA version, and its somewhat depressing..

you know Riko is right. i know how he feels when he says that MC is getting boring. its happened to me before back in TU11. stop wasting time with skins. we have a over abundance of skins. actually fix the bugs in the game instead. i mean seriously all of us have about 300+ skins isnt that enough. i have almost all skin packs and ive only used about half of them. you cant tell me someone has used every skin in every skin pack for a good three months+ each. honestly i would say just use your time for texture packs, Mash up packs, and Updates instead of skin packs because we have more than enough.

The people that do the skins are very likely different people that do the programming/bug fixes. It is a completely different skill set. Why do a lot of people just assume that doing graphic design work will take away from programming and bug fixes?
That's like saying...
Those carpenters plumbers should stop building walls because they need to focus more on getting the drains fixed.
or
That gardner electrician needs to stop what they are doing in planting and tending flowers and the grounds because the electric lights are glitching out.
The plumber isn't responsible for building walls and the electrician isn't responsible for tending the grounds and plants.... the programmers are likewise not likely responsible for graphic arts, mashup packs, nor music.

The PC can update more frequently because they don't have to deal with all the regulatory stuff plus they are programming their own new ideas into the game... so, nobody outside of Mojang can tell whether the idea is complete or "in progress" when they first release it in an update... and then they can tinker with it using an unlimited number of bug fix updates for each feature they add. 4J, on the other hand, are programming ideas that the public already has a pre-conception of how they "should" work (relative to their experience with the feature on the PC) and they usually only have one bug fix update opportunity (slot in the certification process) after they upgrade the game to the next PC version. By now, people should know that Microsoft's openings in the testing schedule have a lot to do with how frequently 4J can release updates. As Greg said, the team that does the skins is not the same as the team that works on fixing bugs, so slowing down the skins would probably have zero effect on speeding up the feature-adding updates and bug fixes.

Where did you hear this??
It's the current Rumor of the 'Secret Skin' that was supposedly leaked out in Canada:
