Microsoft really messed up with their PR. I didn't realize how misinformed people still are until now. The thing comes out in a week and this kid still thinks it has a 24-hour check in.
MS screwed up the whole thing when they announced it would require an always on connection to even play games on it. They back tracked on that but you can be certain that it is still a possibility that they will require that a few years from now (once everyone has bought a system). It is not surprising that their are still so many who have the misinformation.
Me personally will not be getting one for at least half a year or more until they work out some of the main problems. Though I am also still debating between the X1 and PS4 so will see how things play out once they are on the market.
I might move on to PS4, but that won't be for a couple of years at least. Current gen systems are fine, xBone is a bad deal simply becuase your paying for that useless Kinect. (If they had gone the smart route and created a kinect-less bundle for a hundred less or so, it might be worth it)

dude i posted it on my FB page and got flamed, people still believe the hype, and forget trying to tell people the ps4 will have all of the same issues with game resale and things like that, people have chosen to believe the hype created in the blogosphere, and its impossible to reason with them. and unfortunately microsoft didnt use public media to inform people that these things were not true. they put out an article that i didnt even see until a friend posted it, she thought it was an insult to me so she posted it on my wall, but i was glad to hear it.

if 100 dollars is the tipping point then you should get the ps4.
the kinect is not useless though, thats why they made it a "required" peripheral,i believe its the same with the ps4 EYE. by required i don't mean it has to be connected always like other sources of misinformation have suggested, you can disconnect it or turn off its functions as you see fit. but they wanted everyone to have one so that developers could depend on people having it and they in turn could develop more"better with kinect" titles, voice commands for games like BF and halo, possible motion control. it opens up a lot of doors for developers who can now rely on people actually having a kinect, which they couldn't do with the 360.
if you go with the ps4 you will likely be getting what you payed for. in all the info ive found from actually well informed sources it seems the functions that the next gen consoles bring to the table are far less polished on the ps4. this includes the video capture system and the server system (with the Xbox they are actually networking consoles into your cloud storage system for added performance)
they are both going to be great consoles but id rather have an xbone, and id pay an extra $100, just because in a time when the landscape of gaming is being changed by third party developers Microsoft was honest and chose to, instead of slyly ducking questions and choosing words carefully, be blunt and honest and forth coming. just for their part in this misinformation war i will think twice before buying any Sony product, thankfully the xbone comes with a blue ray player, and essentially a smart tv upgrade (with voice commands) so those things ill already have.
but if you do go ps4 youll get a decent console that does pretty much the exact same thing the xbone does. youll even be able to stick with minecraft.

Well straight from MS they said the X1 was for people who had an Internet connection and the X360 would remain for those who didn't. They announced that themselves and are now stuck with the misinformation now that they changed it.
you dont have to log in every 24hrs on the 360 either.

i may watch that video when it comes out because i am still pondering whether i should get it or not.

Of course. Like with all the trials, but it would be nice for a change to have at least one pack that I can play from the start of a new map to get use to the look. The natural one didn't cut it for me, as the sandstone doesn't blend well with the sand. So I can only hope it has that aspect in mind. Won't really know till I see for myself.

I agree the sandstone didn't blend very well but I still think the texture pack is by far awesome and makes everything else that I have seen so far look a lot better. Haven't been to the nether or end yet though.
