Nothing in life, especially if it dealing with Microsoft is free. Even if they say it free, your paying for it somehow.

i highly doubt they will be free. there may be some free ones. but if skin packs, which just add textures to your character, cost $2 than it seems very unlikely that texture packs, which change the texture of every block and entity, or mashup packs, which include both texture packs and skin packs on top of user interface changes and music changes, would be free. so i'm not sure who told you that they would be free, but id suggest buying them two books one on coding and the other on economics.

I think I'm just gonna wait for just Texture packs. As cool as it is to see a TP here, I'm not too big on mass effect and I can do without the music and skins. Just me, I still find it cool to see a texture pack on xbox.
I turn music off and this will be no different; I use my own music. As for the textures, I'll have to see how well they look in a normal world; the screenshots they posted show that at least grass still looks like grass and such.
Pretty good first mash up pack. I wont be buying it however.

They stated on twitter that the reason mobs are not gonna be skinned on mash up packs is because it's supposed to be a mashup of the game and minecraft. They also stated that normal packs will have mob re-skins.
Pretty cool pack. I think it adds to the game. However, I am still hoping for some texture packs that give a good alternative to the current blocks improving things like gravel and cobblestone. Nothing too fancy but just a good alternate set of blocks.
I'll wait till they get either a Halo or a Borderlands pack. They still need Zer0, Moxxi, Marcus, Zed, Jakobs Claptrap, Tannis, T.K. Baha, and probably a few more. They can make either Sanctuary or Fyrestone.

I am very impressed with the Mash Up pack. I am still hoping for a bioshock one. (will cross fingers) I am kinda sad that the mobs are not skinned, but what can you do.
