Considering that I call my wolves (all of them) "Woofy" I doubt if I'll be much more creative with my cat. Probably "Kitty".
My cat IRL is Caesar. I think I used up all my creativity naming him. (if the breeder hadn't almost had apoplexy, I might have named him "Spot" -- he's a Bengal)
This is a discussion of a feature which has been announced for the next update.
Technically, the only person who provides "information on upcoming updates" would be 4JSteve. It would be kind of pointless to have a whole section for his occasional announcements, wouldn't it?
I can't name my cat, unless they are adding name tags. I just don't see much a point to name something I prolly will not remember after a while. So unless they add name tags, they will be nameless...><

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

I'm not very creative with names either, when I was 5, I named my new puppy Woof-Woof, lol, (this is all in real life), and when I was 8 (6 or 7 years ago), I named my two cats "Meow-Meow-" and "Fluffer"

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

If their AI is anything like the wolves and with my play style, "Deadmeat" would seem apt.
Ocelots are nothing like wolves, they dont fight, and if you sit them and you get hurt, they wont come to you.

My wolves seem to have a mind of their own. In one of my worlds, I have a skele spawner xp grinder deep under my base. I'l tell a wolf to sit in the base but about every other time he somehow ends up teleporting into the spawning chamber which I only notice because it messes up the water ladder. Admittedly it is only that world but it is still bizarre.
I tend to name my cats after spirit types depening on their fur color ( like my IRL cat is named Banshee and has storm grey fur, it didnt help that she screamed at the top of her lungs when she was a kitten.) so I will probally go with that kind of assortment
Banshee Spectere Ghost Wraith Spirit Shadow Wisp ( as in Will o wisp) Haunt

They'll just sit there looking good (or not).

so confusing...><
To add to what I would say if tags were in, I would name it according to what is happening to what mood I am in....
Like?
