Thats not entirely true, as its pretty simple to detect the processing power of a computer, and thus 'set limits', but this will never go into the pc version, and if it ever did the PC community would probably light a fire under dinnerbone's chair. The only valid reason I see is that 4J just opted to say oh well, lets not give users a chance to complain about their world being ruined, and take the easy way out of setting some hard limits, and sadly it boils down to just this.
People have a hard time processing that Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is not just a port. It's a different game entirely. There is no game called Minecraft for anything other than a PC platform. Just like there is no game called Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition for anything other than an Xbox 360. Now, would it be nice for MCXB360 to have the features of original MC, sure. But they're not the same game. 4J will create with it what they want. It just sucks that everyone has this set blueprint of what they think it should be based on what Minecraft is already.
Absolutely. And not only "4J will create with it what they want", 4J will create with it what they can.
I think it's funny that you never hear the other versions:
"Why can't PE be more like the consoles?" or "Why can't _________ be more like _______?" Not to mention all the upcoming "Why can't the 360/ps3 have (some or all of) the features of the One/ps4"? (Yes, you know they're coming.) Everybody wants their favorite version to have everything.... as silly as that sounds.
There is no "Minecraft" anymore. There's several versions of Minecraft. One version has these features, another has different features. None of them have all the features of all the versions, and the idea that you can whine enough to somehow make that happen.... won't.
