I built the JL2579 version of the iron golem farm found in the wiki. I only built a single chamber but it is working fine so far. My issue is in the transport system. Per instructions I put water down in a 2 wide channel and where the water stopped i put a sign on each side. This pattern continued until they drop into my container to be stored until death. My golems however are getting stuck in the first couple spaces with the signs and will not move until the next golem bumps it. That golem then stays in that spot until the next, ect. How can I fix this so that it flows smoothly from start to finish without waiting golems?
If you followed the design exactly it should work. Golems take up more than 1 block of horizontal space so as long as there is only 1 dry space between the water channels they should get swept up by the next water source block. Or you could just let them fall about 15 blocks straight down so they will fall outside the village. That's what I did.
How much floor is without water on your tranport tube's floor? If you have 1x2 spots without water you should be fine. If you have 2x2 spots without water you haven't done it right. Pics would help better determine the problem.
My channel was two wide and works fine for getting the golems to the piston chamber. The problem with mine is that the pistons don't do any damage to the golems and it is built exactly as per the You Tube video. Has anyone experienced this issue?
Straight into lava... that would destroy the drops. I think he meant the same lava blade design but with no water moving the iron golems. That keeps the lava at the block just above the feet so drops would be left. You still need a way to get to the drops though...
Ah yes, that makes sense, actually much simpler than having the pistons. I'm rubbish with redstone. It would be simple enough to have water flowing below to flush out the goodies too.

but wouldn't that destroy the item drops?
