I know that sometimes when you empty the water bucket and collect the water back, the source block glitches and stays on the ground.
Right, that happens on the block directly in front of the Dispenser.
What I am talking about is source blocks in random spots on the pad.
Ive been having this issue to… ive also noticed the water block glitch when caving and putting a block to remove that source.. then a few blocks away the new water source will apear… .

Yeah ive had this happen too. Usually if im dumping the water and collecting it really fast.
I've had the same issue. I've got a grinder that dumps water down a series of teirs. Now every now and then a water source block or a bunch of blocks appear and I also have to climb up to clear them. This happens in peacefull mode as well as with mobs. Some source block even appear two blocks high?? Sometimes I still have flowing water with no sorce block at all. Could it be too much water flowing at once?
Are the source blocks that come out of the dispensers on the pads? 2 water source blocks that are next to each other can create other source blocks, depending on the surrounding terrain. That is possible but if the source blocks are being created far away from the dispensers then there is something else going on.
Also, how fast is the pulse that powers the dispensers? That could be causing glitchyness.
I've been working with this bug and finally fixed my trap, the clock timing seems to be pretty important as the glitch was only happening on half of my trap.
Try playing with your repeater times within the trap as well as in the main clock. I was able to fix mine this way.
Note: Sticky pistons w/ stone vs regular pistons w/ gravel I noticed little to no change.

the problem I'm having is about every 5 cycles if the water dispensers. It leaves water source blocks randomly on the spawn pads.
is anyone else getting this issue or have a solution/work around?
thanks

The "new" source blocks are forming in random spots on the pads
