Am I the only one who is having issues with this? Sheep, Chickens, Cattle, Wolves, and Cats are all fine. I have tried numerous times to feed or lure pigs with wheat and absolutely nothing happens. They ignore the wheat and won't follow me or eat when I try to breed them. Fortunately, a lot spawn around my world, but it is somewhat annoying. The seed I am using is: -6120648606982687686.
Note: As a test I thought I might have reached their spawn limit, but I went around most of the main area I base at and harvested every pig I could find, but they still will not follow/feed/breed.
It isn't a bug, it's a feature. Since carrots were added, pigs now react to them instead of wheat, even if there aren't any carrots in your world (if you have an older world). Hopefully the new update will let you eventually get carrots as a rare drop from zombies, but until then you'll have to keep chasing down whatever pigs spawn naturally.
Okay, now my face is really red! Thank you all, I tried wheat, seeds, beef, potatoes and even bones and I never thought to use carrots.... DUH!
You tried to feed BEEF to PORK??? Dude, there is just SOME things you shouldn't EVER do!! That pig will turn on you when he gets a taste of blood from the raw beef.
I think if you feed beef to pork, and maybe add some wheat, you should get meat loaf. Heals 3 hearts, chance of poisoning.
Hmm.....cooked beef, potatoes, carrots, and a bowl =Beef Stewmaybe if you feed raw beef to a pig, it turns into a wild boar, and the only way to kill it is to shoot it with an arrow while it runs around and digs up your fields.
Sounds like someone's watching too much American Hoggers (heh). What if you fed a mushroom to a pig, and he turned into one of those truffle-hunting pigs, and he went out and found more mushrooms for you? Nah, I'm not so big on mushrooms. The stew is great, but it would be better if it stacked.
