Started a new world after the patch but haven't really explored this yet. How do anvils work? I know you can take a weapon or whatever and craft it with a enchanted book to get that chant and also name your weapons but what about repairs? Can I repair my nice enchanted diamond pick? How many diamonds does it take? Does it repair it all the way?
Second topic. Villager breeding. Is it as simple as giving them an item? If the only way to do it is the door thing where you have to build houses then just tell me that's what it is, I don't need the whole run down of how to do that.

Thanks community.
You can repair tools and increase their durability by putting two of the same type of tool in the anvil. Another way is lets say you have a diamond axe with low durability. You put the axe in the anvil, and in the other slot, put diamonds, and then your tool will be repaired:
Villager breeding is the same. You need to increase the number of doors.
Something I don't understand is how in my world, I only had one villager, and he or she has children? Usually in real life, you would need two people.......
For repairing tools in an anvil, I found that no matter how damaged the tool in question is, if you put an unenchanted new version of what you want to repair in the second slot, it will be enough to fully repair the tool. It's a good way to keep the good enchants you have permanently, but it's still expensive in levels to repair diamond tools when they're really damaged. Iron tools on the other hand are *really* cheap (even when they're nearly broken) to repair, so it seems worth it to just use super-enchanted iron for general adventuring no matter how much longer diamond versions might last between repairs.
Ok thanks guys. I think my main trade village is bugged because theres a lot of buildings already and only 2 villagers that aren't mating
If I remember correctly, villagers only breed if there are less then 1 villager per 4 houses. The means that if you have 2 villagers, and want them to breed a 3rd you need a total of 12 houses, if you want a 4th villager you need 16 houses, etc.
