So normally i leave my character AFK at times and when you dont move your hunger is not supposed to drop. I went AFK for an hour with a full food bar and when i came back i found out i starved to death. I respawned and stood still for like 20 minutes to see if my hunger dropped and my hunger bar never moved. Anyone else had this happen?
I've noticed that hunger will take its toll on you after a while. Same thing happened to me while I AFK'd in a safe house where there was no possible way for any monsters to ruin my day. Though that was a couple updates ago so I can't exactly relate to TU:14.

But the host of our world stays afk all night long and never dies of hunger. Why would i die after an hour?
Where were you? Something could have hit you and then started the hunger depletion. I've gone afk and found a skelly shooting at me. Apparently the first arrow hit but then all the rest went straight through and missed.
What I found that works best as I was doing my MC experiments is you should always eat before you go AFK. I have never died once of hunger doing that method.
If you are still having trouble with it you better have a good reason to let your character die. "SHAME ON YOU"
Different Difficulties
Easy : you can't die from hunger but you will have half HP if your hunger gets depleted
Medium : (I'm not sure because people who play this difficulty just plan stinks)
Hard : you will die from it
an actions you do like mine a block will decrease you hunger and or will effect that bar
I was inside and you cant shove people anymore. It only happened once so i dont know. Weird things have been happening in our world since the update. We have a rail that keeps disappearing. We thought someone was trolling until i actually saw it disappear and reappear. Its always the same rail too.
What did you eat? It seems like that when you eat an apple, your hunger does down faster than if you would have eaten a piece of bread. I've heard that it's because of the sodium .-. Not sure how that works, but either way, it depletes hunger faster.

No, it is due to saturation, and in any case it only affects how long you go before your hunger bar starts to decrease (saturation is a hidden hunger meter that depletes first), and the rate of decrease is totally independent of what you ate; if you fill up on cookies it will drop as fast as if you ate steaks (of course, it will take longer to deplete your saturation and cause the visible meter to start dropping, but the same amount of running, etc will deplete one hunger point in either case). Also, regardless of your hunger state, it should never drop by itself; only these actions will deplete hunger, although I've heard of bugs where it depletes for no reason, but most likely if you go AFK and come back dead a mob killed you (are you sure you actually starved? At least on the PC version you can look at the the log file).
Yes Hunger does kill you if you do not move after a while it will slowly decrease,
Where you on hardcore or something? because hunger usually is not supposed to kill you, only lower your health

Maybe something phased through a wall and shoved you around?
If you are fully sure that you were not moved or healing at all, then I don't know....
Stay fluffy~

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
