So, last christmas I bought Minecraft for my Xbox. Since I had been playing it on my iPhone, I had already known some basics about minecraft. But I wanted to study up a bit so I wouldn't look entirely stupid when I was on Minecraft with my friends.
Once I got the game, however, there were a few things I absolutly couldn't find. And some things were on EVERY seed. For instance, I would find either a stronghold of a mineshaft on each seed. It was crazy. But sadly, no desert temples. I thought it was bad luck, or possibley wrong seeds. So I did the normal thing and went to every website, every friend, and every thing "Mincraft related" to find a desert temple seed for my xbox.
I tried everything. I followed every instruction, and I cant find ANY desert temples unless I'm on the turtorial. I continued to look and look with no success
Another problem was Ocelets (Did I spell it right?). I couldn't get the spawn egg for cats (not gonna try to spell the offiscial name for untamed cats cause I have no clue how so bare with me) in creative. I talked to one of my buddies who tried finding it to, with no success. The cats dont appear in survival mode either.
And these are just a couple glitches. I've been haveing a lot of problems and I know its minecraft because I went to Game Stop and made the guy check it out.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!
Strongholds (Giant underground mazes with End Portals) are forced to generate in every seed. Its hard to find them just by caving. To find them, just craft an eye of ender (With blaze powder and an enderpearl) and toss it in the air. It will float in the direction of the stronghold. It will then either break or land, so pick it up if you can. The, start running in the direction to eye pointed for about 50 blocks, then toss it again. If it keeps going in the same direction, keep going. If it starts flying backwards, then you've passed it. Keep throwing eyes until you throw it, and the eye goes into the ground. Start digging safely downwards, and you will dig into the stronghold. Explore, and you will find the portal.
Mineshafts are rarer, and can be anywhere. They don't always spawn in every cave, so look around in many caves, and you should find one. Desert and jungle temples work kinda the same. They appear in every seed. You can check youtube for some good seeds that have them if you want.
For the ocelot spawn eggs, just use your right joystick, and pull it down. It will take you to the second page of the menu. In survival, cats will only spawn in jungles, and they don't spawn of peaceful.
Those aren't glitches, you've just been unlucky with the seed. Anyways, I've been playing minecraft on xbox for over 2 years now, I'd be happy to help you with anything else, and give you gameplay advice. Good luck, and sorry I"m late!
Strongholds and nether fortresses ARE forced to spawn in every world (since TU10). That is because they are mandatory to the game (i.e. you cannot enter the end without an end portal and you cannot do any enchanting without being able to get blaze rods).
However, jungle temples and desert temples are not forced to spawn in every world, just as specific biomes are not forced to spawn in every world. That is why you can get survival island seeds on the Xbox (i.e. worlds that contain only ocean biomes). As was suggested above, consulting the seeds list is the best way to get a seed with specific features that you want. Additionally, most wholly random seeds (where the game is just allowed to generate) will have a wider variety of biomes than many seeds where you type in random letters or characters.
People playing from the disk should be aware that the disk is TU9 (unless the game is updated online through Live on the Xbox on which it is being played from the disk).
