I was wondering which version of Minecraft is better and why.

I have no idea what awesomesauce is but I command it. I know a few things about it though: It's green. It makes all things green once it is poured on. It works much better on Wednesday. It also will talk to you if you put a hat on it. When applied to inanimate objects they grow ears.
Each has their pros and cons... I like the XB360 version better. The game controls just feel more natural, I don't have to worry about modding it or basic crafting recipes, the User interface feels pretty natural which just makes it fun to play. the console also provides a good tutorial interface to get the new player started and orientated quickly and easily learning 'how' to play.
The PC/Java code is conversely modifiable which makes it much more flexible to the tech savvy end user, the worlds are much larger and more open (both a pro and a con depending on who you ask). There are actual servers to host games 24/7, more dev time has gone into it since that is the original platform, so has the most content in the core 'vanilla' code.
I have a feeling that this'll start a platform war.
Please do not compare the different versions. It'll only start fights....
Yes, we have people who will answer properly with good opinions (see above), but there's always that guy....
We really don't need any more platform wars here than we already have, and as BloodyPhoenix said, that guy is guaranteed to show up and start one. Besides, I own both; I'd have to argue with myself!

Just going to be a matter of preference to most.
