how to get one of my tamed wolfs down a crevasse?
how much water will safely stop a fall?

I plan on making him sit on dirt over a crevasse with water directly underneath, then removing the dirt

ahh I'l try a water brake.

Allow your tamed dog to follow you and dig a stair case down to the ravine. Then, the dog will catch up and let him sit down where you want.

Usually, water at 2 blocks above the ground block will be enough to break a fall...but if your wolf/dog is following you and you wander too far away, the wolf/dog will teleport to you to catch up.
