Hey guys! I had one thing I wanted to just ask in general... I just thought this would be the section to ask in. I have 2 Xbox 360 worlds that I play on with friends, and we have been continuously trying to find slimes for a while now. I have used an online slime chunk finder with no luck. With the 16x16 room that I dug according to the slime finder, I have found no slimes. The room is fully lit, and I have the game mode set to easy. Is there any height requirement for the room, or should I leave the room so the slimes can spawn? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
(I need slimeballs for sticky pistons. Redstone is my passion.)
My best tip for finding slimes is to read everything on the slime and slime farms pages in the wiki.
You do not need your room to be 5 high, 3 is more then big enough to spawn large slimes.
Here are somethings that help increase slime spawning in slime chunks (any numbers I mention below should be confirmed using the wiki, I'd do it myself but don't have access to the wiki on this computer):
- ensure EVERYTHING within a 128(this number might not be exact, please check the wiki) block radious of your slime farm is VERY wel lit. This is because mobs can spawn in any dark spot within this radious of you at any given time and allowing other mobs to spawn reduce the number of slimes that can spawn
- Wait close to your slime farm (BUT NOT TOO CLOSE) to actually get the slimes to spawn. I like to stand 30 blocks away from one of the walls of my slime farm in a small safety hut (I think you have to be more then 25 blocks away but am unable to confirm the exact number at this time, please check the wiki)
-ensure that the ground of your slime farm has valid spawning spots! In otherwords, make sure your ground isn't covered in glowstone or torches as they reduce the number of valid spots slimes can spawn in.
-ensure you have no other hostile mob farms nearby, there is a maximum limit to how many hostile mobs can be in the game at any given point and mob farms can choke each other if too close together and running at the same time

once you are here type in your seed. at a spot below Y = 40 dig a 5 high spot in that whole chunk. Be aware that even though it is a slime chunk slimes rarely spawn.

Then read the wiki for more information regarding slime chunks and slime farm ideas.
