I am thinking about starting a server but I don't know which kind. Would you rather play on a RPG server or a regular survival server. Just comment below which you, as a gamer, would want to play on.

Well... I don't really do multi-player much... but if I were to do it, the RPG style would interest me, I can do a survival game on my own at any time, so there really isn't anything overly special about joining a Survival Server to me, and they are probably a dime-a-dozen anyway.
I am extremely selective about the servers in which I play.
The only ones that I consider are those with well thought out stories behind them.
Good stories != a lot of buildings, however. I played in "The Rise of Kronarch" and it had three small building and nothing else--it was the story and more unique PvP style that drew me in.
Try to keep it unique and not just "You have a job to do X, which means you can't do Y or Z."
Personally for me I prefer playing with a team in either a survival or creative build based on some unique theme, that is well thought out and with a plan. Survival builds are much more complicated and not as appealing to the eyes but is somewhat more rewarding. I don't usually build on other peoples servers simply because of griefing and other pvp related issues.
I just find building and working as a team is much more rewarding then doing things all by yourself. Its not always rainbows and lollipops but more times then not things generally flow smoothly.
