Im new to minecraft, but from what i have seen you need the host of a world in order to play on that world. This become hectic because everyone has to create their own worlds. So my question would be do you think there will be some server like feature on the xbox one version were you and your friends could play on the same world without having that world creator be online?
Short answer: no.
Unfortunately this can't happen with the consoles. Each console is a "server", so the console has to be on (and the game running) for you to get on. (This has both good and bad points).
That's the Good News.
The Bad News is I don't believe the consoles are involved (as they're already their own servers). PC version only.... but I've seen mention of a PE being able to use it also. It is also a paid subscription- not free like the consoles.

This doesn't really apply to Xbox Ones since Microsoft has pretty much said that all multiplayer games will use dedicated servers of some kind. Whether it's a companies servers, like EA for Battlefield, or Microsoft's servers. Every game will run dedicated servers.
What this means for Minecraft on the Xbox One nobody knows. I wouldn't be surprised if worlds are somehow in the cloud or something.
* Those MS servers will be free, so why wouldn't they?
* It depends on the game and the developers. Not every game will use those MS servers for multiplayer. MC doesn't use any 'company' servers for multiplayer now.
I hope you're right and I'm wrong! But we'll just have to wait and see how 4J handles it. (Maybe that's what they meant by the One having "enhanced multiplayer"?)
Brings up some interesting questions if they do.
Will anyone (friends) be able to jump in to the cloud world at anytime, without you?
Once loaded to the cloud, will it stay 'your' world or will it now become basically your 'friend's world' (and you lose control of it)?
I don't know, for sure.
But we'll find out shortly one way or the other.

But there's hope for you (and many other people wanting the same thing): Minecraft Realms! https://minecraft.net/realms
There's also a forum here about it: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forum/246-minecraft-realms/
